Great vid, such a simple little thing makes all the difference. Makes you really question why our plates have to be so huge on bikes?! 7x5 should be the standard, I'm sure it would stop people going smaller and taking the piss if they started out more in line with the size of the vehicle they are on!

I bought a JTECH tail tidy for my new Rally. Hour to fit and looks great. Hardest part was fitting the indicators as the OEM rubber fittings were fiddly to get off the OEM tidy and then refit on the JTECH. Very pleased with the end result though.

Just a quickie, I know you have a GS and I saw the bottle of Muck off, FYI my local BMW dealer said don't use the stuff on BMW bikes as they are having huge issues with it attacking paint and frame finishes. Great vid on the CRF, just running one in before mods, cheers.

Nice work. I've cut the mud guard down a little more, removed the red reflector and cut a piece of steel and angled it to mount my plate a little higher. Added a round reflector to the place and away I went. But I have thought about purchasing a smaller 5x7 plate. Have you had any issues from the law? I ride on the lanes mostly but down fancy a fine or points.
@TheMissendenFlyer
9 жыл бұрын
Nope - I've always used these smaller plates and no issues - I guess the really small ones would be a problem but these 5x7's don't seem to cause any issues in the real world. Sounds like a good mod - thanks for watching/commenting - TMF

Hi Beans - the mic I use when riding is just a £9 lapel mic from e-Bay plugged into the GoPro (my Hero 2's use normal mic plugs), and for this video - for the first time so well spotted - I used another powered lapel mic from e-Bay which has a long lead and was about £20, nothing flash but it certainly makes the audio more pro sounding....cheers - TMF

Nice video. I did something very similar myself a few months ago. Fed up with a huge number plate I purchased a smaller, neater one on Ebay. Strangely though, the seller shut down very soon afterwards and I hope his business really was legitimate and above board - I still wonder. Another curious point is that he never asked me to prove that I owned the registration number through the V5 etc...I still have visions of a raid and the Police rifling through his stock of plates, printing machines and inks...and I wonder where he is now.....

Strictly speaking this size isn't legal in the UK, I've never had any issues or know of anyone who has. As long as you're not going silly small or messing with fonts and colours then I think the police are fairly relaxed about it...

Hi hotd70 - Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoy my videos! Now that is a question, entirely depends, what you want the bike for as a sports bike is an entirely different animal to a dirt bike (like comparing a pair of wellies with some trainers!!)...if you are going off road then dirt-bike, if you fancy fast track days and not touring, sports bike......choices, choices!
