Hey Mike love your video. Question thou. My neighbor was a avid old radio collector. His daughter just brought over a brand new in box looks never used Honda E 40 2. Is it worth anything ? I cant really find anything online about the EU 40. Any direction would be appreciated. Thank You....

Well Mike I loved the video and it appealed to me so that's what counts! I think that with all the modern gadget's about nowadays that a 200w 4 stroke quiet generator could be a real hit with campers taking computers and phones with camping . Could run a 15 amp battery charger which is a decent size.

Mike, the smallest generator I've owned was 100 watts and had a 2 stroke petrol engine on it that produced 115 volts. The bearings had gone out, and it was scrapped. In retrospect, I have a Honda 3 horsepower engine I could have made it work on, but it's too late now.

Hi, will this generator power my Ebike charger, which works on mains 240V and is converted to DC42V 2A? It's used to charge my 36V 16AH li-ion battery. If not, I've seen another of this Honda E300, will that work? Reason for asking is that I'm hoping to bring a small generator on my ebike tour, but am not willing to cart around a big generator. Thanks.

Good job with the video, Mike. I have an E40 like yours and the rubber fuel connection from the tank to the carburetor is hardened and cracked, which causes the gas (petrol!) to leak. I tried different things to try to seal it up, but the rubber parts are too far gone to fix. Did you find the rubber parts ok? I do not have a source of replacement parts; parts are too old for Honda now. Any suggestions? (From Minnesota)

Berge Johnson hi, I've been quite fortunate that no parts are needed so far . You are right, finding parts for it now might be very difficult.

If the generator is damaged in might need new windings. A very tedious process, but theoretically simple. If it's some other part of the electronics just identify the specs of the part and replace it. If the spark plug isn't working then it could be an issue in the ignition circuit. Can be a pain but perhaps quite simple. You would need to know how it works though.

Those " little flyweights things" referred to at 14:14 which open up due to centrifugal force are reminiscent of the Rotary Governor Control mechanism of the steam engine, we used to call them the " Governor's Balls" and they were big balls as the steam engines were normally rather slow and when a governor has to operate at slow rotation the Governor has to have big balls. kzitem.info/news/bejne/t4Zj1aCtsZ2oaqg kzitem.info/news/bejne/r56uuItqpWqeqJg
