I drove one from Belgium to Northern Italy last year. The car was a remarkeble all rounder. Sufficient driving comfort, great millage, enough performance, space for the bagage for two to spare - and perfect for driving on twisty narrow roads and easy to park. The Honda Jazz can do where you would otherwise need a bigger car for, so you maintain all the practicalities of a smaller car. I know it sounds boring, but thanks to the Jazz I hadn't been bored out last year!

@FrightfulAccountant

@@sailormanoyster1849 My girlfriend has the 1.5 Dynamic. It's a bit of give or take compared to my top spec 1.3 ex. If you want performance, the 1.5 is quick, very quick. 130 hp doesn't sound much, but it comes with lots of extra torque. Makes it very fun to drive! Downside: you have to like hearing the engine while driving the highway, it drives 120kmh at 3600 or 3700 rpm. It gives it great acceleration out of 6th gear but it aint for quiet cruising. Other big downsize is there were no options for extra equipment on the Dynamic. Tinted windows and a rear view camera where expensive dealer installations. Automatic climate control and keyless entry were just not available. And for me a big pitty: the stearing wheel on the Dynamic is not leather. The plastic wheel just sweats in your hands on long trips... So pick your poisson.

I needed to downsize and really this was the only small car that did it for me. The VW Polo with all equipment is way too expensive, the Mazda 2 is not spaciour nor practical enough, the Hyundai i10 and Kia Picanto simply too small. And why people keep raving about cars with known reliability issues like the Ford Fiesta or the Fiat 500? I want value for my Precious money and that is just what the Honda Jazz delivers. And it is even quite good looking!

Another downside, in the UK anyway, is the high insurance grouping allocated to this latest Jazz. Considering it is similar in length and width to a Fiesta, it's in/around Group 18 making it much more expensive to insure than, for example, a Fiesta or Polo

+pipsicle When she did the "magic seat" thing the camera should have panned down to show the space it provides, and how the mechanism works. CarBuyer normally has such good editing and production values that simple mistakes such as this become glaringly obvious. Same with showing the hidden under boot floor storage but not mentioning it, nor mentioning what sort of spare tyre it has while they had the boot floor already lifted. Yes it's nitpicking, but CarBuyer are the best so we're used to perfection :-)

Kinda missing the point of the magic seats in this video. The magic bit is where the seat bases lower when you fold the rear seats down to give a flat load space.

I have 2000k on mine. For a teenager-early 20s it s awesome. The fuel economy even with a heavy foot is unreal, plenty of space for the mates or for some ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) in the back thanks for the folding seats. Still fun to drive hard in the traffic and for cruising it's pretty good aswell. The gearchange is super satisfying the stearing is precise and grip in any condition is very good (that is that obviously you have to be careful in the wet but still it is responsive). Heated seats as standards are a nice touch (even more with the girls) and they are very good quality (my fathers subaru xvs are worse and the car is twice the price).They hold the value and the reliability should not disappoint so it is a no brainer. My advice is to buy the bare bones version (maybe invest in a white gray or black paintjob since the standard ones are kinda werid just for reselling it easily), all the good stuff is there and if you pay more the engine is not getting nor bigger nor more powerful, all you get is an annoyingly clunky air conditioning control (the standard one is golden) and a pointless navigation system. Still recommend this over anything on it's category.

Ginny is fantastic, the Jazz is a decent car too for it's purpose - but the serious lack of cutaways in this video make this review almost pointless. When talking about the dashboard, we'd like to see it. Equally with the 'magic seats' that we don't get to see.

I've been looking forward to seeing this review, only to have it spoilt by a poor camera operator/director. The major selling point for the Honda Jazz is the 'Magic seat system'. Did you show it? Did you Heck! You showed us only the presenter, smiling into the lens, and talking us through what to expect, but you failed dismally to show the handy ability to offer space in various ways! From there, we were shown sections of the dash, with no direct view of the instrumentation! This was without a doubt the worst review you have ever offered to us subscribers! My suggestion is, go back and re-shoot the whole thing! It really was THAT poor! Sorry!

I find the review funny, she pulls a lever and pulls the seat up and says "I'm sure you can see why I think this is one of the most practical small cars around" I would be able to see if you did some work with regard to camera angle, the whole interior section camera angle is focused on the presenter and not the car... This is why unsubscribed in the first place, not due to change of presenters necessarily. You need some work to get the camera angles as good as previous presenters.
