I have too, winter and life in general has made getting out to work on Albert hard, but hopefully I can get back into the routine.

I just ordered it just now but still think I did a mistake, I don’t plan to mods my monkey other then the rear suspension but just tough about running too lean without a tune , make me regret my decision now

I think you’ll be ok, make sure and reset the ECU and let the bike get used to the intake for the first few miles. If you plan on doing more mods you may start thinking about tuners.

I was using the msx chimera intake. It looks nicer on the parallel with the tank externally.

I really like the look of the double air intake it looks ridiculous and way over the top perfect for the monkey 😂 not sure how it would work with the oil cooler though

I am really curious about that as well, it looks really cool and I wonder about how much space it takes, but the price is hard to justify so far.

I recently saw a post where the owner reversed the direction of the front fender to give it a "more retro" look & it's kinda works. Maybe the oil cooler would fit then?

That's an interesting idea. I may need to get into the garage and see how it'll look flipped around. Thanks for that information!

Ok, I’ve watched almost all of your Monkey videos and I actually found a new old stock ‘19 model for a steal. Now wondering if you only had a $1,500 budget, what’s the list of MUST upgrades you’d do? I’d love to get some more speed (like everyone else) as I’m topping out at about 62mph in favorable conditions. I’m also content with the stock shocks as I’m not bottoming them out with my weight. I’m also content with the bike cosmetically as the retro style is what drew me to the bike in the first place. Also, it’s been a while at the time of my writing this since we last saw Albert, how’s he doing?

It's definitely been a bit since I've posted a real video with Albert, I have some stuff to show but it's been difficult to find time to make some videos. Soon! As for your very interesting question, that's very difficult. I usually point towards sprocket changes, but if you like the top speed you're getting that would definitely negatively affect that (you'd see better acceleration, but lower overall top speed). The same would go for intake and exhaust (though these could help the bike breathe a bit better and get you a little more performance). Digging into the engine (like a cam, or a piston) seems like it could also help with the performance/top speed, but might also not really show that much benefit for the cost/work. A cam and ECU tune for the cam could probably help you on the top speed as both would help better the overall timing of the bike. It's a slippery slope, though. I tend to tinker, and once I do that I wind up trying more and more and more.

@@UnknownOverLand I have Yoshi + tune. I have cam in hand and need to put it in and send ecu out for reflash. But the intake is what I am trying to avoid. I ride in rain so much in the pacific NW and a lot of water gets splashed onto the airbox.... I don't want wet exposed air filter, you know?
