Great video. It just shows how it’s not an easy job to do this balancing well. Persistence paid off in the end. Well done.

Like yourself, I've purchased the specialised tools over the years, it makes doing these jobs yourself much easier and you know it's been done. At present I have 4 NTV650s (long story), plus others and do all my own servicing. The NTV is know as the despatch riders favourite in the UK. I love mine, very underrated bike.

hi i have the 600, i think i need to change the main jets as i have changed the exhaust can, do you have any ideas where i can get them . cheers rich

I've got Delkevic short cans which are straight through cans on two of my NTV650's and haven't needed to change jets? They run just as well and as fast as the old original exhausts. If you need jets I think you can get them from a carb supplier or someone along those lines? I'm no carb expert, never needed to swap them. I'm cleaning one of my NTVs carb at the moment because it had been stood for quite a while, was coughing and spluttering very bad. Another problem is a lot of the parts are being discontinued so getting a pain to source and so the prices are getting silly. Thinking of selling them and sticking with my fuel injected bikes.

@@januszk3392 Yep. For good chain maintenance you have to clean and grease like every 500km. The chain on my new bike has now run like 16k kilometers and it's a cheaper DID chain. I'm curious how long it will last. ^^

You guys are actually making a mistake by only syncing at idle (revving it a bit does not count). One should sync these engines while **keeping the rpm steady** at around 3500rpm, as in that rev-range, different jets inside the carbs are used. You want a butter smooth ride while cruising. Who cares about idle. Therefore sync the carbs at whatever is cruising speed/rpm to you. If you sync at say 3500, the sync at idle might not be as perfect anymore but as it will hardly be noticeable in real life, who cares. For the people who want to know what equipment they are using: that‘s a Boehm Vergasersynchrontester. They also have variants with 4 and 6 gauges.

It was done as per manual. If you want to sync at cruising RPMs, do it. I won't.

Servus.
@meoffjack
@kiddershu384

Liegt an deiner Situation. 😉
