Hi Pete, I am in awe.. I have a 1975 Novio, which I am told is a 4 stroke? Please would you be kind enough to share the basics to check on getting it started. Think mine has sat in the garage since 1984!! Has mileage of 557 and the free 500 mileage service booklet page unused!! 🙄 Thanks for putting up your video, has given me hope 😃

@@jackybaylis Hi! Yes it’s 4 stroke so just fill it up with super unleaded! If it’s been sat that long then you’ll need to strip the carb down and make sure the jets are clean. Ideally fit new rubber gasket when you put it back together but they can be a pain to get hold of so you can always use a bit of liquid gasket in a tube on the old one and it should seal ok. Does the engine turn over or is it free? You can pick Haynes workshop manuals up on eBay which will help you out no end!

Hi Ben. There should be a cable from the decompression lever going up to the a small lever under the left hand handle. Make sure the lever is in the on position on the side of the engine. Check that choke lever on the carb is up. Hold the decompression lever in, start pedalling, then when you’ve built up speed, release it and it should fire up. After a short while you should slowly move the choke to fully down. Hope this helps!
