I haven't found any aftermarket exhaust that I like for my 24 Rebel 500. Still have the stock one. I also keep all OEM parts when removed from vehicles...so if I do trade it in or sell it, it will come with all the OEM parts if they want to put it back to stock. However, I have no interest in selling it - I love it. No interest in upgrading.

The stealerships make the money on the stealer fees, not on the "margin" on the used bike. They buy the bike for 3500, sell it for $6k, then charge $2k on dealer fees. Don't feel bad for the dealerships.

Another great vid! I feel that the Honda dealership was being more fair than the Indian dealership. I agree that they need to make a profit to stay in business but for a repeat customer at the Honda shop, they could have sweetened the deal a little more for you....

@@BensDad2003 thank you! Yeah, it felt like a fair price given the circumstances. I’m sure it’s hard for them to market a used bike when they sell them new for 6,500.

Simply put Honda could sell your Rebel directly through their network close to it's retail value and can sit on it as stock. They are investing in it. Indian would be selling your bike on to a dealer at trade price. Cheap and fast to recover the capital.

4500 to 5000 is what these sell for used private party. Along with the fact you can also get a vulcan s for 4k used is why you got offered 3500. 4500 was only offered to you because the dealer was making it up on the price of the 1100
@evergreenmoto

@@creaturecore13 Yeah, that’s makes sense to me. I’m sure there is a markup on the other side purchase. Private party is usually the best route to go for top dollar.

I have a 2007 Honda Shadow and a 1999 Honda Goldwing. Just bought my wife a Can Am Ryker 900 Rally. Consider keeping your Rebel 500 and pairing it with something larger to accommodate different rides. I have a Quadlock with vibration dampener on my Shadow connected to a 12 vdc to USB power supply wired direct to the battery with an on/off switch. The power supply constantly displays voltage from the stator. Very happy with the setup.

I went to a Harley dealership and they offered $4000 for my 2020 Rebel 500 ABS. Another time a very aggressive salesman at Indian found a buyer for my Rebel…which would have been much higher than a trade in, but I still love my Rebel.
