I noticed this vibration happens at hwy speeds on mine. Glad I watched this. Thanks

Is it vibrating as you are accelerating or is it just a constant vibration at speed?

I'm willing to bet your customer had an issue with the transmission output shaft. That thing will cause a vibration, guaranteed, I'm currently waiting on parts to fix mine. Constant vibration, whether in gear or not, accelerating or coasting, and a horrible noise inside the cabin. I've ruled out the diff, the axles and the wheel bearings, and when I turn the prop shaft there's a lot of play on the transmission flange plus a gritty noise coming from the tail of the transmission.

What's your opinion on the axles from the Driveshaft Shop? They use a ball and cage style inner CVs as opposed to the OEM tripod style.
@puddymod

They make very strong axles from my understanding. I have had no experience with their product.

Waiting to se 4.7 diff build 😍. P. S What do you think of diff mount collars?
@puddymod
2 жыл бұрын
Collars are okay but it’s best only to use one set. Use one set on either the front differential mounts or on the rear differential mounts leaving 2 mounts stock. This will stiffen the differential in its place but not so much so it causes a lot of added noise and discomfort driving the car.

@@puddymod thanks for your response, yes I have a little bit of noise. But I saw on your video, the pinion has been broken from the shocks with spur gear with time.

My honda CR-V 1998 recently developed a vibration when the road tilt's or when going over a bumpy road. The vibration seems to be coming from the front passenger side and you can feel it in the steering wheel as well as hearing the passenger side dashboard vibrate. When this happens it feels like the front passenger wheel is loosing grip and bouncing and makes a brrrrr sound. If i let go of the gas petal it calms down. So far i changed struts and strut mounts and had alignment and balancing. Nothing helps. What do you think

Hi, I’m not really a front wheel drive expert. At first I was thinking strut/shock but you replaced that…

But there isnt any reinforced afternarket axles? Honda S2000 stock ones can handle clutch plated lsd and 255 track tires ?
@puddymod

The “stock” axles I build have a 100% none fail record :) Nothing is bulletproof but things can hold up really well if not abused.

@@puddymod i bought a 150k miles s2000, and besides making the regular maintenance, i instaled 255 100 treadwear tires, 4.7 final drive and kaaz lsd. I grinded 1 axle in my first track day. Maybe they were just old. High temperatures on rear brakes can cause this?
@puddymod

@@brunomanco7529 Most likely temperature, heat will cause stress and metal fatigue. If the car had been lowered for a period of time it will also cause ware in the CV cups
