I think this is great for those riders that used to have the capability and skills but become physically handicapped, and still desire to ride. I don’t think newbies should solely rely on all of these new electronic aids, abs, anti-wheelies, etc. Riders definitely need to have their skills honed in order to maintain the highest levels of riding. I personally don’t like electronic aids, but I’ve taken riding courses on beginner and advanced levels so my skills are developed and continuously improving.

Balancing is literally half the reason to own and ride a motorcycle. I bet any motorcycle rider would agree with me on that one. Now if someone really has balance issues, they probably don't want to ride a motorcycle anyway. If they have no issues with balancing generally, then it's a fun thing and makes life a lot more fun as long as you are a responsible rider and aren't doing tricks and stunts on the regular streets and roads....

How does this take away control? This only helps the bike balance at slow speeds. So if i pull up to a stoplight i don't have to put my feet on the ground, sounds pretty nice and takes nothing away from riding expect that....
@lenardgor
6 жыл бұрын
blu3flare25 it does. You learn alot when riding slow about your bike and how it reacts to certain movements. For example if i ride a 100kg bike or a 230kg bike its a huge difference. My driving instruktur always said everybody can drive fast with a bike but driving slow is the real challenge.
@blu3flare25
6 жыл бұрын
You don't learn anything about driving slow expect balance. At higher speeds the bike is always naturally balanced from the centrifugal forces. You also lose nothing from technology this except not having to put your feet on the ground at a stoplight. Your driving instructor was just giving tips for absolute beginners. If everybody could drive fast we would all be pro racers..
@lenardgor

Now, let me get this right - is it not true that a gyroscope effect is happy to sit at ANY angle? So, if this bike gets canted over by the rider, to 45 degrees, it will stay like that - unless the mass of the bike pulling it down is heavy enough to counteract the gyroscopic forces at that angle. Hence, the funny steering system to try and keep the thing vertical, and the very, very slow riding is CAREFULLY done so as not to cause an issue? Lastly, gyroscopes can have a violent reaction to being knocked off their axis of rotation. I believe it works, I am just a little interested to chuck it into a corner or pull it violently around some tight cones, and see what happens?!

Can't imagine leaning into a fast turn with those "outriggers" though...Do they retract at high speeds?

Curious, I'm assuming the things on the side are for the balancing..I can imagine there are plenty of people who ride through lanes..this can be a problem..

if you can't balance a bike that you're sitting on, then you should not drive a motorcycle or even an ordinary bike

I have never had an issue just putting my foot down, and I can drive my 600 at less than a MPH indefinitely. This is for newbies wonder what happens when you get into serious lean angles.

Let's see it go around a race track or in heavy traffic so far walking pace proves nothing.

You're proved to dumb just like everyone else here. Pay attention, this is meant to provide balance at low-speeds, because that's when it's most necessary. When sitting still in a motor-bike, you have to prop, or set your legs out so the bike doesn't fall, with this technology it just automatically balances itself. Even more impressive, is that it manages to balance itself, when you're required to move very slowly like in traffic. Learn to pay attention, this is not balancing technology for racing, you don't need it then.

It's not necessary and it won't keep balance on mud or hills or if the the road is damage a bit.

You imagine sitting in traffic and the handlebars are going back and forward rapid to balance itself, you'll have an injury in no time. I want to know what will happen if it turns left to balance itself but you need to turn right quick? You'll be fighting against it.

Yeah, and imagine how wonderful the non-mechanical link between handlebars and front wheel decides to glitch and not respond while driving at high speed. This is as horrible an idea as fixed-pitch propellers on flying cars/person carrying drones.

Nice best comment on this whole thread! Your logic is undeniable. If it cost Honda too much to go with the automated floor at this point in life, than the world is not ready for this bike. Lol

I just install training wheels to the back wheel of the bike, they work great.
