Looks Good, Great Job!👍 What's that welder you have, is that just a soldering iron?

It's like a soldering iron but it has a triangle bit on the end and it's only has only one heat. HOT. You can see it on Harbor Freight site. Put in Plastic Welder. You-Tube has reviews on it. Works great. Norman.

@@WhipCityWrencher Thank you for watching. The welder takes a while to get up to the heat to really melt plastic so let it set when first plugged in. You get one, try it out on some scrap plastic first. Weld two pieces together and see how smooth you can make the seam. Watch You-Tubes reviews. Norman.

Hi Colin, Thank you for your comment. It's Saturday 8;00 AM and 15 Degrees here in Western Pennsylvania. My nephew that I ride bikes with lives 18 miles from here. I was just thinking,,,, would he crap himself if I rode down there and said "Lets go for a ride" ? I think he would go. If I were a younger man I would do it. Have a good day. Norman.

Hide a spare key behind your mirror, in the housing. Now after a long day of driving, if you suffer riding fatigue and lose your key, you have a spare to get you home.

Just pop the mirror off and have your key. Great idea. Love it. Norman.

@@2001himax And no one knows the mirrors pop off, and it's out of the elements and unlikely to fall out. Ask me how I know., 😎

@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic There is a zip tie to keep it from falling off but I bet it will bang around a lot and do some damage.

@@2001himax Put the key in a zip lock, and duck tape the zip lock to the inside of the mirror housing. Waterproof/corrosion proof, and you just rip the bag open to get the key. 👍

I think you misunderstand paint work. What you've done is great...but it's just the beginning to get a pro result. Your finish on repainted part is not the smooth look of the rest of the bike- much of the final result is the light reflection, color match can be a tad off as yours is now. To fix this, sand what you have to get rid of the orange peel with 500 grit VERY Lightly, then clean, go to 1000 grit. If you sand too much, repaint with color again. Then when ready for final you shoot with clearcoat, then polish with rotary oscillating polisher with finest final pad and Meguiar's final polish. Keep polishing till it looks like glass. In time, as you get proficient with clearcoat, and have skill with paint, you can lay the clearcoat on HEAVY so it looks like glass, and you will not have to sand and polish at all. Keep in mind that the part is ABS plastic, and the paint is also plastic...with both having the same flexibility.
