I hope this helps anyone looking for the budget approach at lifting their Ford Econoline van and fitting a larger tire. I have $2150ish in wheels, tires, lift kit and install including alignment in this van so far. This is a Fordpartsone lift and they are a terrible company to deal with but they bought out Maxxlift and are the only show in town making a lift spacer for these Econoline vans so you're at the mercy of their terrible customer service, 0 phone number to call and goofy fees and costs involved in the lift (they ask how many lug nuts your van has and they charge you more based on how many you have even though their kit does absolutely nothing with lug nuts), then you'll have to pay some other fee that's $40 more dollars so your $300 kit after their bs fees will cost $400 and you'll only use the front components because no one needs the rear blocks and u bolts since the objective is to level your van, not make it taller and still sit like a stinkbug!! Sorry about the rant but I have no patients for incompetent companies and this is surely one. With that being said here is an honest rundown of what to expect and how you can achieve a lift on a budget on your E series van. Mine in the video is a 2011 E350 with a 5.4 but they are all pretty similar unless you have an early e150. Early e150s sit a lot lower but in 07 I believe they all went to an 8 lug configuration and it's hard to tell a difference in a 150, 250 or 350 by visually looking at ride height. Early ones are very low and have 5 lug hubs with weak spring rates. In 07ish the radius arms changed as well to a heim like pivot (not a heim but same concept) mount as opposed to the early E series had a rubber bushing it would pivot on at the rear frame mount bracket. Personally I feel the 07 and newer radius arms are a huge improvement because of this mounting style.
Tires-265/75r16 Bfgoodrich Ko2. I explain in the video why I always choose this tire. Well worth the extra money, excellent inroad and off. $200.00 each after tax from Discount tire
Wheels-Vision Manx 16x8 with 0 offset. In the video I explain the wheel weight issues with running a 16" wheel so pay attention to the video. The brake caliper clearance is not enough once a stick on weight is applied to the inside of the wheel. We used a press on weight that attaches to the inside lip but I will be removing those and adding balancing beads inside tires to remedy any wheel weight issues in the future. $596.00 after tax from Discount tire. Shop your tires and wheels on eBay and you'll find these prices at discount tire direct. Then my local discount tire matched the online price after tax.
Install costs on wheels and tires $60
Black splined lug nuts $40
Fordpartsone lift $401 delivered to my door
Install at shop with alignment $305. Make sure they do not use adjustable alignment cams. Use fixed position cams so you're not fighting with alignment issues in the future.
