My 10 year old is happy to go back to Teaching Textbooks again. I think he'll do well with it! He DOESN'T want to write things down. And we'll add Life of Fred too :)

Me too!! Off-topic but I called HSLDA recently to ask for help finding a Latin curriculum and the lady I spoke with gave me the same stupid excuses that people use to not teach cursive. "Outdated" "no one uses it" blahblahblah. She said she's a foreign language teacher and that learning Spanish would be a better choice because 1) a lot of people speak it 2) it'll help teach other languages. I explained that we already had Spanish covered but she said to move on to French. Like...what??? I'm still too upset to type out an email to them to lodge a complaint without sounding mean, but it's on my to-do list. Sorry for the rant lol I feel very strongly about learning cursive and foreign languages and had to get that off my chest.

Thanks! Did you find A Reason for Handwriting provides enough cursive instruction to learn it? Or is it mainly practice? I've been using it with my daughter for manuscript and am debating continuing it for cursive. I learned cursive years ago in school but don't use it and I'm sure I don't remember all the letter formations now. I want to make sure what curriculum I use will be sufficient to teach her the how. Thanks!

A Reason For Handwriting was a very typical, basic handwriting curriculum. Nothing special. I like IEW's cursive handwriting for beginners. Or Handwriting Without Tears.
