The bad guys in the CC series are most likely connected to the bad guys in The Throne of Glass series. All three series / worlds are probably connected to each other through these bad guys. * * * * * The fae in the CC series most likely came from the world in the ACOTAR series. Not sure yet how the ACOTAR & TOG worlds are connected.

Having read TOG, I’m failing to see a clear connection to those bad guys so far but I’m curious if SJM will manage to pull it altogether in the third book. I’m not sure how I feel about it because if she does combine all three series, that means you have to have read 10+ books to understand CC book 3. She has a super loyal fan base, but that’s still a lot of time to commit!

I liked book 1 of the Crescent City series. I definitely saw its flaws but I also enjoy supernatural murder mysterys and that was the vibe it was giving. But I absolutely hated book 2, I ended up skimming the second half just so I could know how it ended. If you really want to know what happens I suggest watching a recap KZitem video and not wasting your time with the book.

Aww that makes me so sad! This was the first time I didn’t enjoy a SJM book, and I’m hearing from more people that book 2 wasn’t great for them either. I will probably watch an extensive recap of book 2 and then wait to see how everyone rates book 3 before buying it myself! Thanks for watching our video!

Now you could read Robin Hobb’s Farseer trio from Real of the Elderlings (in case of first person writing masterpiece) or Lifeship Traders if multiple POVs. Just to put on the test what prose and characters mean not to mention using the given tools like magic and writing a plot and political narrative. (And still she has the best animal companion ever..) it’s a great contrast when it’s a slow burn book is great (it’s really slow but worth it) or when those 100 pages are not really good for the book and the repetition is a thing as you said.

We both have the Farseer Trilogy on our Goodreads TBR! We need to commit to it and give it a chance. Thanks for the recommendation.

@@thebookangle Well, it won’t let down. In the same time as this was hyped up by YA and fanfic that is on the level of Game of Thrones and from that era, praised by authors as base to learn how to write.
