As mentioned in this video, the technology is abundant and not going anywhere on these touring bikes. How do you feel about "Tech" on motorcycles?

I just traded my 2008 Softail Deluxe for a 2023 Street Glide because of the new tech. I’m getting older, and want the comfort and convenience more than my love of old school Harley’s. Keep healthy and know that even though the platforms you use are draining, the fans are always with you!

I totally despise tech on motorcycles. I drive a semi truck and am inundated with technology everywhere. So I like just the bike and my brain working. I'm even looking at a new FJR1300 because it's so simple and effective at what I need.

Hey Jess, the old man here. Jess, it sounds like your hobbie has turned into a job. That's why you're getting burnt out about it. You no longer have the freedoms you once had. And as far as your body changes. The older you get. The more your body changes, and your metabolism slows down. I'm on blood thinners for the rest of my life now. I get cold quite easy these days. And i truly know the feeling of riding a motorcycle when the weather changes overnight. I went for a ride to visit people i knew. The next day, i rode home. With only a thin jacket on. I sang religious songs to take my mind off the cold. By the time i walked into our house. I could no longer feel anything on my body. Thank God for a great mom. She got an electric blanket out for me. Turned it on high. Took about 30 minutes before i could feel the heat. Then i started shaking uncontrollably for close to an hour. Even with this in my past. I am still looking forward to buying another bike and riding again. I'll probably sell my Jeep soon so I'll have enough money for a bike. I'll keep you posted if you like Jess. Hope you and Jordan have many more safe and fun adventures together. Your friend always. Walter/ the old man.

Just about what I was going to say. It was fun until it became a job. Maybe change it up a bit. Take out a map and find routes you’ve never done. Then plan to do a few this season. But don’t lock yourself down to it. Then it becomes a “task”.

I have the 23 CVO Road Glide. I get what you said about the bike shutting down to fuel up and it all disconnects. Here's the remedy that has worked for me to keep it all on when you fuel up: Keep it in first gear, put down the kick stand. Upon doing that, bike will shut just the engine down but electronically, it all stays on. Good Luck! Love you content! Take a break and enjoy your own life for a bit. Then come back rested up!

That is exactly what I always say, Jess! I rode for 6 yrs, no other options for transportation, so all seasons and all weather... now I'm a dedicated "fair weather" rider. Nothing to prove anymore, right? Last year I rode 600+ miles one way to Ocean City Bike week and loved it, got stuck in heavy rain on the way home for a couple hundred miles and it was no big deal but I'd never leave the house in even a light shower on a bike when I have a better option in the driveway. Like you said though, if I'm out and about and get stuck in whatever, meh... don't love the idea but no big deal, just not volunteering to go get wet!

I am 62 years old and have been riding since I was 16 years old. In 2017 I was in an industrial accident. that destroyed both of my shoulders, and I am now fully disabled. I sold my motorcycle and stopped riding because of those injuries. I moved from Massachusetts to Florida last year and as Daytona bike week approached, I was really missing riding. I went and looked at the new Harleys and fell in love with the copperhead CVO road glide. After a test drive I figured I might not be able to ride all day, but I can ride and purchase it, I like all the new technology and out of all the bikes, I have owned this one seems to run and handle better than all of them. With that being said, some of the technology has me concerned. If the infotainment screen goes out, you have no speedometer, no gas gauge, no odometer. Enjoy your new ride and don’t let KZitem and making videos turn you off from enjoying riding.

You would think those screens are an expensive upgrade for harley but honestly these screens are cheaper than individual radio, gauges dummy lights etc.. They are mass produced screens and circuit boards that give us the illusion of expensive when in reality they are cheap.. No different than a 250.00 laptop that does it all. tech is cheap but sold off as expensive.. Sad but true,

Now I finally feel that I want to do a pre-recorded video during the week, but finding the time to get it together, recorded, edited, and posted is getting tough as well. So, yeah, I feel your pain. My suggestion is this, do what you enjoy. Feel free to do the personal things, like the changing habit stuff and the struggles there, but be sure to spotlight the riding, your true joy. I’m enjoying what you’re sharing and look forward to the adventures you and Monroe have ahead.

Honest answer? I've disabled my IG for the past few months or so...there was a little FOMO and it was weird at first-but really I feel like I can breathe easier now. My head isn't spinning as much with "should I post this? Is this good enough? Is this even relevant?" Etc etc. Anytime I think about going back, I don't want to anymore. I've been more present, I have time to do more of what I enjoy, I have a LOT more peace...I know it's not the same for everyone, but I'm glad to be away from IG. I'm still able to keep up with my favorite content creators-even the ones that post maybe once every 3 weeks feels like a great catch up session. I recognize the amount of hard work you've put into ALL areas of your channel, it's far from easy and you've done an amazing job. I hope you're able to look back on all you've accomplished and give yourself some credit...but remember, you can't fill from an empty cup. Whether you post 3x a week or once every 3 weeks, I'll be around. Take care of yourself Jess!🤘🏻💗

I’m conflicted. I love the look of the Roadglide (both models). But I went to my local HD dealership to look at them yesterday. I rolled up on a 1986 Goldwing which cost me £3000. I was looking at the RG with less protection, less storage. Less pillion comfort/storage. Gadgetry and electronics that would never stand the test of time of my 38 year old GW. And they wanted £25,000 used. I love the idea of it but really think getting one would be a compromise to what Honda produced nearly 40 years ago.

I love riding and all kinds of motorcycles. Five and a half years ago all I wanted to do was ride. So I sold my nice car and bought two motorcycles. A touring bike and a Supersport. I live in Portland, OR and I commuted and took care of everything and rode everywhere only on my bikes. The touring bike had all the necessary bags I needed to go grocery shopping and several very long road trips all over with my teen son and what ever girlfriends that I had during those five years. The Supersport was for commuting and fun riding when I wanted to get on some twisties, which we have plenty of here in Oregon. I rode in all seasons and loved how everyone would tell me how tuff I am for it. When I turned 38 last August I guess I got burned out a little and could not see myself riding thru another winter, so I bought a car. And have been driving until now. My bikes just sitting waiting for warmer days and I don't feel as tuff anymore, maybe it's the age, or maybe it's just having to gear up before every ride that got to me. It adds to the "discomfort" of getting things done. I am still obsessed with road trips on my bikes, but now only waiting for warm sunny weather. Because God knows I've experienced being frozen to death way too many times. My bath tub will tell you, ha ha.

I know with my Indian my phone is connected to bike and my cardo is connected to my phone. The sequence I have to go thru is cardo off so bike & phone connect then turn cardo on yes every time if I don’t turn cardo off it may not always connect. I don’t know if that helps. Burn out is bad & sounds like you got a little of that. Maybe living in the toy hauler is stressful. Go see you GP get some blood tests and see if you’ve maybe a bit run down & a little deficient body balance wise. And give yourself some love and don’t be so tough on yourself. Sometimes our own self talk can be our worst enemy. Think about yourself differently at times & give yourself some love to nourish your soul.

So I haven't tried it yet because I don't have the bypass BUT in the bike settings you have the ability to have prompts and commands done through your headset so I would think theoretically even if your using the bypass you should be able to have your text messages read to you through your cardo and be able to respond through your cardo as well.

I know what you mean about weight on a bike, My dream bike really was an 82 BMW RS, but those days are gone. why I liked it so much is that it truely was the ultimate touring bike. light and lots of room in the saddle plus large bags, full fairing that really worked, and mechanics were simple.now I have 2 bike in the garage one will be sold a Triumph Sprint 1050st. awesome fun bike one of the fastest tourers made, and siding on the sport side, but at my age i was starting to be a bit cramped up. so what did I do, I bought a 2004 Road king classic. a ouring bike that brings the smile back from my old BMW R100cs. solid yet not over powering, could use a 6th gear though.OH btw your channel helped me look at Harley. thank you for that. Happy travels my dear and maybe see you on the road one day. God Bless stay safe and keep up the great adventures for us all to see. If ever in Canada say hi ;)

Jay with Volunteer audio is working on a plug and play hertz amp and speaker solution, but until the technology is tested and rolled out, he has come up with a Kenwood amp and speaker system the he goes into the amp and modifies to work with the Rockford amp. Everything including the wiring is plug and play with no cutting and no modifications, so it won't void any warranties

Hey Jess, Yep you're getting older and changing (sounds like growing pains, lol) that's just part of life. The fum thing just sounds like your switching from one habit to another; just quit. Throw it down, say "I'm Done" and move on. Yes, it's tough for awhile but it will get easier. Riding more is getting harder; the seasons aren't the same as they use to be. I guess just be glad you don't live in Michigan (LOL). I ride because I enjoy it; So I'm with ya, getting caught in the rain is one thing but if it's raining out when I'm leaving my house, I'm driving the cage. If it's 50* out, I'm driving. My point here is do what's best for YOU and Your family. Cut out and take a ride to lunch with Mama Two Wheels or spend the day watching the cat. Call an old friend! Hey Jess, great video. I bought a white 24 RG in part based on seeing a video of yours. The tech is outstanding and Harley leaped ahead of the competition and it was an easy choice. At the same time, the suspension and other upgrades really helped make my decision. I traded in a BMW R18 TC which I loved. Now I am learning about upgrading my bike which was never a thought process with my beemer. I’m stoked. One thing Harley needs to do is get their dealers to offer FREE ECM updates for these bikes. The plug and play features need this. And, dealer updates are more reliable and it will help avoid software issues. Car companies do this under warranty but HDs want to charge shop time for it.

Some pretty straightforward talk there. Yup, it gets harder as you get older (I'm old enough to collect Social Security) and turning your hobby into your job doesn't make it easier - been there with both the motorcycle and firearms industries. These days, if the temp is below 40 or rain is likely, I don't ride either. Being paid to ride is one thing, going out in it for "fun" is something else. You can get past it, it takes some work and introspection to rediscover what you find exciting about motorcycling. Not so easy in the winter though... believe me, I know as we had a couple of sunny days at the start of this month followed by a surprise gift of snow from Mother Nature! Hang in there, while it may not seem like it Spring will arrive to let you get out, ride, do that introspection so you can create content. There's an old piece of advice about all of this: "This too shall pass" and it will.

I don’t know if you will see this, but if you do, I have the same struggle with my health I have found the best way for me is to track my food and I mean every piece of food that goes into my mouth even down to the oils and butter, I was 330 pounds now I am 190. I don’t do any kind of fad diet that’s out there. The one thing I don’t do is I try to eat everything with no added sugars or natural or artificial flavors. I also do at least 10,000 steps per day and I go to the YMCA every day and try to do a one hour workout of some kind.

I'm over 55 and I just decided to do something on my bucket list. Listening to you, I feel a tho this might be a big mistake. Maybe that ship has passed and I need to do something else on my bucket list. I just don't know.

Maybe if you change your words, it will change feelings. Maybe if you change “get rid of him” to “he is going to a great new home”. Might make you feel better. All I know is it is a process that helps me change my feeling

Jess, I think I would take off for 2-3 weeks. Focus on yourself, take a bike trip somewhere warmer, take your camping gear with no video as much as we would love to be there. This is for you. Thanks for sharing

My apple carplay and the entire indian ride command system stay on after killing the engine on my challenger at the gas pump. No disconnect issues. (Also way more horsepower for way less money :D)

I have gotten to the age where I am going to try not to ride when the weather is less than my age. I.E. if it is 40 I might say Nah not today... LOL same with percentage chance of rain. if it is like 30% chance I am like hmm maybe not today. anyway keep your head up and enjoy what you can when you can. cheers.

I have the 24 cvo road glide st and that’s my big gripe! I want to be able to kill the engine and leave power to the screen. I hate Apple for their mic rule. Apple is poop for that lmap but I love car play.

I completely understand about getting older and your body changing. I turned 60 in September and on one level I feel better than I have in years. On the other hand it scares the crap out of me there is more behind than in front of me. It may be why I decided screw it, I'm going to get a motorcycle and really learn how to ride. Now, I have no sense of balance anymore, so I ride a Freewheeler. My husband bought a TriGlide in July and I found out I could shift the gears without killing it. Bought mine in late November and loving every time I ride. As far as tech on motorcycles, the previous owner of mine added a fairing with a radio and updated the exhaust. I am getting rid of the fairing and just going with a plain old large windshield. I have a Cardo that I can listen to music & chat with my husband. Have my phone mounted to the handlebars so I can navigate. Just really enjoying the idea of getting my trike back to its more original form. Now, if I were to go with the RG3 I would want the new updated screen and all the whistles & bells. I do not have I-Phone, so I don't know how well the tech works with Android. But I probably won't go for one because they haven't released a color I love like my Amber Whiskey.

Your 30s....😂😂 wait till you're close to 50s 😂😂. I turn 47 in Aug, I hurt everywhere 🤣🤣. I wanna lose a bit of weight myself so I'm seeing a VA nutrition doctor next month and I'm going to join a anytime gym.....soonish lol. Mainly so I can workout some and I have a regular place to shower after work. Baby wipes only go so far. I got one of my tattoo artists working on a new brap star tat with a octopus for my arm. Im really excited about 😁🤘. I kinda like this vid style tbh. Regular camping...meh. the Oct campout I'm ready for lol. Good vid.

If you need to take a week, 2 weeks, a month to work on yourself physically and/or mentally...please do it. We will all be here for you when you return. Don't let something you love feel like work or you'll slowly lose that fire, that passion. Take care of yourself first, we will all understand.

As far as diet and feeling different, it’s an age thing and how your body reacts for the foods you eat. I am in my 50’s and actually went plant based for a couple of years, and have really felt my best during that time. I am now back to eating meat, have been for a while, and once again my body is giving me the same signals as before. So maybe going back to drastically reducing my meat and dairy consumption. Just my observation and experience I’ve had with what you had mentioned.

Foreshadowing here. You are awesome! Maybe too awesome for your own good. As I LOVE your adventures, I also am a realist. You’ve mentioned about your husband multiple times and I have noticed something. With all of your endeavors during your videos, why hasn’t he stepped up and offered his opinion in your content? I know this is your channel and I know he’s made an appearance or two but, exactly where is he in all of this?! I wouldn’t be inquisitive but you are so “single and free” in your content. How does HE feel about that and more so, how does a married couple seem so separate in such a HUGE lifestyle? When a man and a woman are married, they share the special moments together and NOT with other people. Please explain.

First of all, I am by NO means obligated to explain anything to you. Second, I have talked about it MANY times in my videos. You just must not be paying attention. Third, he has his own channel. Linked in EVERY video description. Go watch his videos and figure it out. The audacity of your comment is baffling. You see 5% of my ENTIRE LIFE and assume there are fissures in my marriage because I enjoy long distance solo trip. Wonder if you would have said the same thing to a man. 🤷♀️
