The Cheapest and Easiest Way to remove honey when you only have a couple of hives. Why Crush and Strain when you can Uncap Plane and Drain! Sharing about a new tool I purchased in order to demonstrate a simple way to harvest that leftover honey once your bees make it into spring.
In this video, I'm using very common household items, partnered with the new-to-me uncapping fork that is made from 300 series stainless steel. VERY SHARP -
Here is the kit:
One - Deep Brood Box painted black so it heats up I added a 3" shim around the base to make it deep enough for full size frames and a pan underneath for collecting drippings of wax or honey depending on what you're using it for.
One - Recycled Basement double-pane window (garage sale gold).
One - Colander Strainer, Large, 13.5 x 9.3 Inch : amzn.to/2W8NL6b
One - Silicone collection pan (good for wax also) : amzn.to/2Dyp0cs
One Kinglake Honey Uncapping Fork: (this WILL sell out) amzn.to/2XESNrs
