Preach. I really feel like him being on tfatk held him back. It gave him coverage but in a bad way. Tht type of podcasting is not his thing wht so ever. His stand up is legit good. Better than Rogan and schaub. 100% You have to have tht it factor and lacy has it. ( not tfatk podcasting though) U either have it or you dont. Rogans been doing it for 30 plus yrs and he still doesnt Have it. BRENDA TRIES SOOO HARD but no matter how mang shows he will do. He wont have it.

Bro, I’m in my early 30’s and went to multiple therapists as a teen and it was always a fucking joke. When I hear comics talk about therapy I always laugh because that shit doesn’t work. I was listening to this while grocery shopping and at one point stopped in my tracks and said “holy shit”, because mother fucking Chip made me realize I’m pretty fucked up and just haven’t seen a legit therapist. There were multiple moments where I realized the various ways I’m fucked up from my childhood, and I’m straight up passing it on down the line. Now thanks to Shapel I have to actually find a God damn therapist because those questions he mentioned hit hard as a mother fucker.

Better than or worse than Rogan or Schaub is definitely a matter of opinion even though I may agree. Also before I even finished the comment about therapy not working I was sure that person just hadn't found the right one. Most of all though Shapel's white family who raised him should be so proud because I am definitely in agreement that he has a great head on his shoulders especially being around all of the toxic people in Hollywood!!

Watched both of these episodes and having nothing but the utmost respect for Shapel. It breaks my heart hearing that no one had even asked him what he genuinely liked in life until he was a teenager. Us honeydew fans need to find his teacher and get a reunion going for those 2. I'd love to hear an episode 3 of this journey how he met back up with Chip and got to thank him for all of the support and kind words. That phone call to tell him please don't go beat up your step-dad may have saved his life in more ways than 1.

Ryan and Shapel, this episode brought a revelation to me that after 30 years I finally realized. I have the relationship I have with my mom because I don't see her as just a mom, she's also my dad (who was absent). My mom was hurt when I moved across the states, and treated the situation as such because I'm her baby boy, but it doesn't feel the same to me because I viewed my decision as one between a man and his father. I thought she'd be more accepting at first and see it as her son moving on to other things and becoming his own. Just wow.
