Nice video. As a person who has been visiting Waikiki and environs for 40 years, I learned some new places to explore. I like to see that you and many vendors are wearing masks. You should wear them all the time except when you are eating. We can't go until we get vaccinated or something as we are elders and cancer survivors and we really miss our trips to O'ahu and Maui very much. Until we can go we watch every Hawaii video that we can stand and we certainly can stand yours. Thanks for showing us Kaka'ako. Last year we couldn't figure out where it was. Next visit we'll find it.

I've got a trip scheduled in the later half of the year with TripAdvisor to produce a guide and I love seeing what other people have got recommended to give me the inspiration I need to see this beautiful place! I hope you and your loved ones remain safe during this difficult and testing time. I am glad that creatives like yourself, are flourishing and remaining positive!

I’m not sure if someone has done this for you guys yet, but I think it’ll be helpful. Here’s a little pronunciation guide for Hawaiian: - a-ah - e-eh - i-ee - o-oh - u-oo The consonants sound the same, but there’s one that isn’t included in the English language called the ʻokina, which is a glottal stop. If you see a line above a vowel it means it’s a long vowel (you sound it out a bit longer than the other vowels). So a word like Kapālama would sound like kah-paah-lah-mah. Mahalo nui loa for taking the time to read this and I hope it helps.

We will see what the island looks like in October/Nov for crowds but parking is relatively easy now. Chinatown parking is best in Marin Tower and I think it is $5 for the day, $3 on the weekends but check! The Hawaii Heritage Center, who does the Chinatown tour, recommended the parking lot.
