Chile Eboe-Osuji is the President of the International Criminal Court and an outspoken critic against corruption and exploitation everywhere.
Eboe-Osuji was called to the Bar in Nigeria in 1986 and shortly after went on to work as prosecution and senior legal counsel on the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
After spending some time teaching in Canada, he then became the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay before moving to the International Criminal Court.
As a member of that court, he has become known and respected for calling out corruption and attempts to intimidate or undermine the judiciary. He has recently spoken out directly against the Trump organisation for its attempts to undermine the court.
Chile Eboe-Osuji is an internationally renouned academic, lawyer and judge and a proud defender of the rule of law and human rights. It was an honour to receive him at the Phil in September 2020.
