In a deeply emotional ceremony, the remains of the legendary Muriel MacGowan Larner were laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Wally Larner, on Monday, July 15, 2024. 🌿💔
Muriel, who dedicated 40 years to running the Arau Coffee Plantation and founded the Eastern Highlands Cultural Centre in Kainantu, leaves behind a legacy of love, culture, and community. Her daughter, Rosalie Everest, and sons, Marc, Ian, and Paul, brought her ashes back to Kainantu Cemetery, where Wally has rested since 1967. 🕊️
At the Eastern Highlands Cultural Centre, staff trained by Muriel in pottery, weaving, and various arts wept as they honored the woman who had touched so many lives. 🌺❤️
This tribute video was made possible with the support of Obura-Wonenara MP and Agriculture Minister Hon. John Boito, National Agriculture Research Institute (NARI) Director-General Dr. Nelson Simbiken, and Department of Agriculture Secretary Dr. Sergie Bang. 🎥🌟
A heartfelt thank you to Rosalie Everest, her sons Paul, Ian, and Marc, and the beautiful people of Arau and Kainantu for their unwavering love and support. 🙏✨
