Realy nice and impressive Teamwork in your Videos . But i have a question and would be realy Happy about an answer. Its about pint back ears. I have a mule and i did "exedently" Liberty Work with her...becouse she was much more nervous on the Rope so i just put the Rope by Side on the beginning. We have already Good Communication on the ground... but she realy often pint back her ears and also Shake the Head. I can see this also in some Moments in your videos . And i would like to know what you Think it could mean? My mule do it realy extremely... Sometimes i Think she have a playface but sometimes i realy believe she is Angry...but Why she didnt just Stop than and go in the gras? I have the feeling she is motivated...but damned the long ears back head down ore shake and the nostrils say something else. I Work with Treats..can it be that the pressure for Treat is so high that she do stuff whats realy piss her of? I try to watch her all the time and Study her expression to understand...also in the trail with the others Horses its difficult for me to see the different from Play and send a others Horse Away... I can Read the others Horse better in this point than my mule wich i know much better and habe a Good Connection. Best wishes anna

The ears by itself are not saying anything. You need to look at it as a complex of signs, then it means something. There are also ears back and ears flat back - and this is big difference.

Does ears forwards are sign of happy horse or stressed horse? 🤷🏻♂️🙃

When you look at your friends, maybe they are not smiling all the time, but does it means they are not happy? When you concentrate, maybe you are not smiling but have “crumpy” face, does it mesn you should not concentrate or you must “learn to act” to have happy face?

And this are only few thoughts to show you how complicated this “ears back” sign is.
