Thats such a smart way of doing it! I’ve never had anyone show the ways of hood alignment! Thank you sensei lucky! You are truly one with the automobile.

Man I miss my first car so much. It was a 1965 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS. I was the third owner. I bought it for $675.00 off of the Kmart parking lot on Beach Blvd. in Huntington Beach, CA. That was in 1976 which seems like a lifetime ago and then sometimes it's like it was only yesterday. 6=8.

My much older cousin lived next door to me when I was a kid. He had a mint 66 SS396/325 Chevelle in Pontiac Blue that he ordered new for about $3600. It was the reason I fell in love with cars. First car I ever drove that could smoke the tires when you nailed 3rd. It's still around, but has changed owners and states several times over the years. I haven't ever quite forgiven him for not selling it to me. (Sorry Gary.) It's back in my home state now owned by a guy that loves and takes care of it, so at least I know it's in good hands.

I was 12 in 1966. A yellow 66 SS396 like that one was how I learned about muscle cars in 1966. The guy's brother got one the same year only a convertible. Always a favorite of mine.

I like the way you start from the place that is most likely to be straight and square and the adjust pieces forward! And the way you explained the process was excellent!! You must be hangin out with that guy Dennis Taylor some and he is rubbin off on you!!! 🤣 Could be worser stuff!!!🙏

Thanks for showing us how to perform an alignment on the front clip area. I had a 68 Impala back in the day that I wrecked in the front. This would have been very useful information for me in the repair. Great video Lucky!

Lower valance is correct. Also, I cannot thank you enough for showing how to do this! I’m fighting fender gap and hood alignment on a 1959 Chevy Apache. Man, this is not been nice to me. 😂😂😂😂 I sent this video to myself so I can use it for reference. Currently, I’m in final phases of body work before paint. I want this right!

Lucky, the original WD-40 is not a solvent--though I know the company makes other products these days so maybe you use a solvent-based. It stands for "Water Displacer-attempt number 40" to get it right. It came from a U.S. military contract to prevent its ICBMs exteriors from corroding. I don't use it for two reasons: the only ingredient the company will reveal is in it is mineral (baby) oil (I like to know what's in the products I use for safety reasons). Second, the smell stinks. In my experience there are better products available.

AMEN, LUCKY! WD40 does not age well. It becomes a sticky varnish. I have a can somewhere and if I can’t find it, good riddance.
