My 1st kayak was a Hoodoo Tempest 120 pdl. And I ran my original J2 Bixpy on my blade rudder. Awesome beginner boat. I purchased my 2023 Radiant Citrus Hoodoo impulse 120, fin drive, and received it feb 1st week. I upgraded to the Bixpy J2 PP 768, With the vibe Gravity rudder kit. This boat is amazing. Hull access, love my storage, tracks straight. Installed and still am. My boondox landing gear, electronics, batteries, usb's, volt meters..I'm 5ft 7 161 lbs. I can walk all over her. And recently bought my $350.00 Harbor freight trailer. Measured the PVC to the hull, added gaskets on every hatch. Not a drop in any storage, or inside the hull. C.S is awesome. And they give you all you need to unbox, get on the water, and figure out your setup. 💯 🛶 🌊 🎣

@@ronnierussell8405 depends on what part of the world you’re at. The company is based out of Houston, TX. I had mine shipped to San Diego, CA. Altogether, it took about 3 weeks. After my original comment it came before the end of march. The shipping company they use (Estes) is kind of lame, but there was no damage to my kayak. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about slower shipping time. But I think those are from people who didn’t read the availability for their kayak.

Appreciate yr review bro. Much detail. Im fixing to buy a 2022 Impulse Saturday that hardly used for about $600 less than new. If I may bro. Safety advice. I know yr wearing rubber boots cuz water is cold. I wear them once as well and it almost cost me my life. I ended up in a lake over my head. Boots filled up instantly. I was on my way under. No way to get them off after they are full. To much suction. I thank God I found enough bottom to get back shallow enough to stand b4 I drowning. Just a nugget of wisdom bro. God bless u.

@@ercoutdoors1094 I was able to go test this kayak this past Saturday and this was definitely not the case at least the Impulse 120 I tested (which was a new one). Yes the fins fold up similar to what the Hobie's do but they do not LAY FLAT against the bottom of the hull they extend at an angle so there's about 3-4" of fins below the bottom of the hull. Hobie kayaks with the GT drive and newer drive systems will lay FLAT against the hull. For us shallow water fisherman (12" or less) that's a big deal. FYI. Take care!

It's a Texas company but the kayaks are imported from China I'm pretty sure. Wait... you turned the steering left and the kayak went right... your cables are backwards! Kayak should go the direction the handle points. I have a Chinese kayak that's the exact same kayak as the Hoodoo tempest 120p. And my 2021 prop pedal drive does 4mph without pedaling as hard as you were pedaling. Don't have to pull it out and flip it around to go in reverse. I will say one thing, the weight capacity they advertise is BS! Mine has a 460 lb capacity but I'm 230 and water comes up the scuppers while in motion. I just looked up your kayak from my China supplier... I can get the same kayak for under $500. I'm not knocking any of these kayaks because mine was under $400 and well worth what I paid for it!
@ercoutdoors1094
3 жыл бұрын
Yes they’re imported correct. When I swapped the cables to stainless I installed them backwards. As far as weight capacity I’ve yet to have any issues there. Having a prop drive the instant reverse is a pro. Unfortunately for the shallow marshes that I fish the prop drive wouldn’t work for me. Stick with works for you though bud. Tight lines!

Well there’s a new generation of impulses out that apparently fixed the slight issues with the cables on the drive and tighter tolerances as far as I’ve seen since I purchased both of mine. It’s definitely at the top as far as budget minded kayaks go…it doesn’t beat a hobie though if I’m being honest. Obviously that’s a higher price point kayak though. The impulse gets the job done though 👍🏽
