The botanical gardens and the byodo in temple are my two bucket list things I want to check off when I go to Hawaii next year, thank you for the video! Would you recommend getting an uber driver or the bus to get there?

Oh it breaks my heart to think of all the tourists who never leave Waikiki, except maybe to go to the shopping malls and a token museum. There is just sooooo much to see on Oahu alone. It's a fantastic holiday destination. Also, the magical detail which will surely appeal to many people: there aren't loads of bugs and creepy crawlies around! You can go into the rainforest and not worry about dangerous, venomous creatures lurking everywhere. You won't be constantly swatting at mosquitos and flies etc either. It's a great bonus to enjoy such a climate and landscape without those worries and irritants. Wonderful part of the planet. The history and culture is fascinating. For example: flash the Hawaiian flag to someone without telling them what it is and the British Union Jack on it will really confuse them. They'll NEVER guess whose flag you're showing them. 😉😄

Hey y’all! Do you remember the name of the beautiful Japanese music you used after you rang the gong? I want to use it to mediate it was so peaceful 🙂

It should be in the description box. We usually write the name of the song and artist in there :)

We did have to pay an entrance fee, but did not have to make a reservation. Things are constantly changing with covid though, so you might want to check out their website!

Denny and Nikki, wow! The temple - it reminded me of Kyoto, Japan. I taught in Japan for three years and Kyoto was my all time favorite place to visit. Yes, very Zen. Back in the States now teaching Elementary School. Denny, your tips on teaching were excellent, man. I am leaning your way for the 2021-2022 school year. Life is an adventure or nothing at all, right? I am so happy that I discovered your channel and will be a loyal subscriber. Peace.

Indeed, life is all about adventure and experience! Hopefully you can make it to the islands next year. Hawaii always needs great elementary school teachers! Japan sounds amazing and is definitely on our bucket list. How did you like teaching there? - Denny

@@DennyandNikki Japan is "all in" regarding education. It was intense. My sixth graders would be with me all day and then most of them had night classes and weekend classes also. I felt like my students were missing out on being kids because of the never ending classes. When my students here in America complain I tell them about my experiences in Japan. They get quiet. Are you in school in Hawaii or virtual? Enjoy the channel, man. Thanks for sharing your journey.

@@writeronthestormkyushu565 Wow that does sound intense but I am sure it was an amazing experience! I wouldn't mind teaching there at some point in my life as well! I am teaching virtually right now in Hawaii but hopefully we will be back in school in January. Stay Safe!
