My June budget went out the window, too. Lol. I fractured my ankle and had an emergency surgery. Luckily, I had 6 months of emergency fund saved. 🙆🏻♀️ Since I’m temporary handicap and off work for 3 months… we took a road trip around the US! Literally around the perimeter of the country. We figured I’ll never have this much time off - might as well take advantage of the time off and save my sanity! 🤪

June was quite rough for me too… unexpected stuff like breaking my phone screen and macbook charger suddenly not working. Good thing I have a tech sinking fund BUT it still didn’t feel good as that fund was supposedly for new gears when it’s time to replace my current ones. Oh well at least it didn’t actually affect my monthly budget. I also spent mon shopping since I finally went to a big mall for the first time since Feb 2020 and got excited over in-store sales. Overspent on food as well since I treated my dad twice this father’s day as a lowkey excuse for good takeout food. It was also time to replenish some skincare so I made a huge order that’ll last me until end of the year probably. I dont feel too bad since I enjoyed everything I spent my money on but definitely cutting back this July.

You can also just pay all of your health expenses out of pocket and reimburse yourself even after years have passed. The OTHER great tax advantage for the account, healthcare costs are always tax-deductible, vs when you just pay out of pocket, the costs are only deductible if they exceed 7.5% of your AGI and you itemize. If you have the HSA, you get the tax-advantaged status for ALL out-of-pocket costs, even if they don't meet that threshold every year.

@@AjaDang Given the location, Naples and the Amalfi Coast would be good destinations. I've never been to Naples and have admittedly heard some sketchy things about the city, but since you'll be soooo close, it would be worth a day trip, especially if you do a little research beforehand. The food from there is fantastic, so you might want to focus the day around a particularly nice restaurant. The Amalfi Coast is near the mountains, it's a UNESCO world heritage site, and the area is apparently known for limoncello.
