I didn't expect the sudden romantic story from old man Voll 🥺😭. It was so touching to see his devotion to her memory. What was your favorite scene?

I remember you saying you might not like this anime since its not your genre but we kept telling you its one of the best for 2024. Here you are 16++ episodes in and you fell in love with the story, characters and action like we did. Seriously cant wait for S2.

7:30 True, though one might say Himmel understood Frieren better than she did herself back then. There are some other reasons he was so understanding toward her, though some of them edge into spoiler territory.

About Frieren holding her hands from behind like an Asian dad... Giiiiirrrrrllll I've been doing that since I was a child, looking after my grandmother hahahaha. Ahhh... This episode made me think about her a lot :'(

Haha Frieren doing the Asian dad pose was so fitting yet so silly at the same time.

By far my favorite episode. I had a grandad with dementia, and I can tell the author also experienced the same thing in her life. It is our job to keep the memories alive and go forward.

This is just another fantastic episode. It's so sad and heartwarming at the same time. Also it's the other way around, I don't think you're a crybaby if these episodes move you. I think you don't have a heart if they don't lol

@@SnuggleswithVy many grown ups that I know- both male and female shed tears over Frieren. It hits harder for mature audiences as the themes become more relevant those that share almost similar experiences as the characters in Frieren deals with.

I would love the adventuring life as a holiday but not all the time. Not having comforts for a bit makes them all the sweeter when you have them again.

My grandma is struggling with dementia now, so that was a super impactful episode for me and my favorite scene, and I'd like to think Frieren will treasure her memory more now. I also loved the Kraft reveal, I hope we get to know his story one day and be able to praise him down here. Thanks for reacting!

Thank you for your fine work, huge fan. --- Nothing is worse then consuming a form of media and coming away with no feelings or emotions at all towards it. Beit music, books, movies, anime... Meanwhile this show, pulls every emotion I have throughout every episode, that is what I love about Frieren and why it is S-tier. I have happy cried at this anime more then any show I have ever watched. Amazing.

Old man Voll reminds me about my late great-grandma. She was a strong old lady (who's strong enough to take a stroll in the morning and doing some heavy house chores) but her memories were already deteriorated. My fond memory about her was when she's always mistaking my lil brother as my big bro (probably bc of his towering height despite still being a brat 😂) and then proceeded to order us to help her grinding coffee beans with big mortar and pestle (I don't know the words in English but it was a big a** equipment, not the small one that we usually use to crush herbs/pills). Her last words were 'i want to go home' towards my grandma and then she passed away calmly surrounded by her children. Sometimes me and my lil bro talk about her when we drink coffee together 😢.

8:06 “If you think about it, part of Frieren’s journey, beyond the end, is saying goodbye to all her friends she met in the past.” It does connect to the Japanese title: “Sousou no Frieren” (Frieren of the Funerals, which is what the demons also call her “Frieren the Slayer” because she sees you to your end. ^_^

"I'm a creature of comfort" lol me too. Ever since I got married, had kids and just, life made no room for anything else. I can't imagine what people like Paul from Mushoko Tensei did, other than cheat on his wife.. But still. If I was single and no job, I still enjoy a life where it's "scheduled" because that's how my mind works? if that makes sense. Fast and loose is basically the antithesis of my ideology. Sein is such a great char. Also, I used to run a dementia care facility and there's a thing with the patients that, late at night (or triggers) they get what's called "sundowning". Which is what old Man Voll felt like with Frieren. That job was so hard to watch families and loved ones with the patients. The crazy thing though, is that a lot of them would remember the most specific things about their past and talk to me about it. So, the ending part where he dreamt of his wife - made me super emotional. Hard not to get attached .
