Packing for a couple of days is pretty easy. My wife and I tend to take long trips and pack 7 days of clothes to minimize laundry days. We can do this on our BMW, but I don’t think it is possible on the new Wing, sadly. Honda did address the too small top case and now I hope they will address the too small side cases. They could just buy the rights to the Corbin lids…

Sadly that was longest trip we did as a couple. Now I mostly ride solo. For 1 ok, but for 2 up, I can see that being hard especially if packing rain gear etc.

@@PrivateCitizen1214 That is sad. My wife and I enjoy our trips. Even our LT is tight, but we have a system now that works pretty well. We each use one side case for clothes. We use the top case for toiletries, walking shoes, jackets, iPads, etc. We have a bag that fits our top case rack and that carries rain gear, bike cover, air compressor and jumper cables. We made it 33 days to Alaska and back this way. The LT is getting a little long in the tooth (2007 with 100,000 miles almost) and I like the new Wing, but just am not sure it is up to the kind of travel we like to do. I may have to bite the bullet and get a Harley, Indian or Yamaha since they are the only ones who seem to focus on two-up touring bikes.

@@LTVoyager mannnnnn, that’s a blessing having the time to be on the road like that. I’m working up to that 😃 I think you said only holdback at this point is the smaller side bags and that’s an easy fix with the Corbin extension??? I’d say let the wife decide.! Let her sit on the back of the ones you’re considering, see what makes her most comfy and make that your choice.

@@PrivateCitizen1214 Yes, it is. I was fortunate to work in a job that allowed me to retire at 55 a few years ago, so I am trying to get as many trips in as possible before I age out. We rented a K1600GTL back in 2013 for a tour of the Alps thinking that would be our next bike and what better way to try one out than to ride it for 13 days. It was a good thing we did as my wife didn’t like it at all and I wasn’t all that impressed either. Yes, it is a powerhouse and fun in that regard, but it is a distant second to the LT in comfort, particularly wind and weather protection. We then took a two hour ride on a new 2018 Wing when they came out and neither of us liked that better than our LT. It was probably a better fit than the BMW, but barely at best. We also tried the the Yamaha Intercontinental, but it is heavy and underpowered and I just get my head around an air cooled bike in this day and age. A couple years ago we test rode the K1600GA and that was probably our main contender to replace our LT, at least until BMW came out with their policy of no longer supporting owner maintenance and repair by no longer making service literature available. Since my nearest BMW dealer is 140 miles away, that is a nonstarter so BMW is off the list completely now. Thankfully, our LT is running great at 100,000 miles, but it is showing its age in a few ways. I am sure it will go another 5-10 years, but I really have the itch for a new bike and the Wing is probably the best option at present. The Corbin lids would help, but the problem there is that nobody seems to make liner bags for them that utilize the addition space. I consider case liners an absolute must have for touring and without liners that fit the lids, they are not terribly advantageous.

@@LTVoyager So it looks like your leaning towards the wing. You could get the large capacity saddlebag doors and then use the hopnel liners meant for pre 2018 GoldWing. I read a review where someone said the liners were too big for standard 2018+ saddlebags. Or maybe wait another year and Honda will probably offer bigger saddlebags on their wings…. Whatever you do keep ridin’! You give me hope for retirement!!!

nice clip. I know Honda sells these bags for the GW but they are considerably more expensive. Thanks for an Option B.

@@PrivateCitizen1214 Yes. The DCT is an amazing machine but I prefer the manual and it is a logical step up from my Honda 1300CTX. It seems Honda is not making many 6-speed manual's in 22 and are pushing the DCT's.
