Ive been on ADT HORMONAL therapy for 15 years plus and i REGRET it. Negative quality of life. Turned me into a walking dead man. And i started with radical prostatectomy which I regret better to live without these two treatments and die.

This video explained more than any of those pamphlets and timed visits with the urologist, oncologists and radiation oncologists combined. I’m the wife of a Prostate cancer patient. I support my husband emotionally, organize medical notebook and appointment calendars. Can’t imagine someone going through this or any cancer alone.

Were you informed about the severe brain fog, the significant risks of diabetes, osteoporosis, diabetes, increased risk of strokes and heart attacks, sarcopenia, mood swings, severe depression, destruction of sexual function including orgasms,, the risk of months or years before testosterone recovery, the risk that up twenty percent of older men will NEVER RECOVER ABOVE CASTRATE LEVEL,, or that ADT CASTRATION longer than six months reduces life expectancy by two years?? You probably were not fully informed because full disclosure would harm Big PHARMAS profits from these outrageously expensive toxins.

Thank you. This talk is so reassuring. My husband has prostate cancer and is on zoladex. His PSA dropped from 1200 to .5 with the first injection. The reading has remained stable at less than 1 for 16 months and we hope that the drug will keep us together for many years!

Didn't see a reference to elevated risk of developing pre- or type 2 diabetes which may be the result of the increased weight gain. Personally I did drift into type 2 diabetes during my 18 month course of Deca Peptyl ADT. but with rigid dieting (low carbs, medium protein and fat) I dropped back into the low levels of pre-diabetes. As a detail for the diet, it really helps to take a low calorie pre load (e.g. glass of water) before meals which lowers the size of the meal needed to assuage hunger.

Another side effect of Lupron is that you will sometimes experience brain fog when you get up in the morning. Start taking vitamins. A Also, you will have to use the bathroom more (#2) :( You might want to purchase and wear depends underwear if necessary. Also, eat less food when going out or at work just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the information. It helps a lot for the discussion with the Doctors. Readings in Dr. Google suggest that hormonal treatment promots the risk of dementia. Do you have any thoughts on that? Is there a way out. Overall the real challenge is mostprobably that patient and health provider will have a different idea about the value of quality of live and longetivity. What you think? I really appreciate any hints how to approach, considering that there are so many variables to look at. And lastly, would it be possible to interrupt hormanal treatment and resume in a hopefully distant moment in the future when necessary? (Status - radiation therapy 3oo7 - 1 injection and 13 oo 30 … 50mg bicutalamid)

The doctor tells me little what was going to happen with hormonal therapy. Never have any followup and never can be reach, just his nurse. Now I have enlarged breast that I understand could have been prevented but now too late. Lupron shots and expensive pills. I do not have any energy to hardly exist. Terrible day and night long sweats that i need towels to dry. I wish I had never started treatment. Cancer in my lymph nodes but he will not even tell me what to expect. Think my doctor should learn by watching videos.

Life is sweet, but I tell ya, the treatment I'm receiving for aggressive Prostate cancer ( I've had radio Therapy / Zoladex injections and I'm now on Bicalutamide Tabs ) I'm living with mental confusion & emotional stress, massive weight gain ( I've developed Diabetes ) Hot Flushes & Sweats and extreme tiredness ! Sex is impossible ! I've come to a point where I have to stop treatment and face my mortality as I really can't take any more as there is NO quality to life. It's just a hell hole horrific existence. Its hard to believe that they haven't developed less devastating medications. I'm outta here. I wish you all strength, courage & happiness.

Don't know if you can respond to this. Hope you can. God bless.

@@sebofcourse6598Hi Seb ! God Bless you too. At present I'm trying to get some good advice about what to expect physically after stopping medication so I can prepare. I'm not trying any alternatives but I do take activated Turmeric. The trouble is, I gave up proper exercise long ago due to real excessive fatigue and things got rapidly worse all round. My advice to you is to never slack or give up on daily exercise and seek out natural remedies to take along with your medications. We are not all the same and you still could have very many good years ahead of you, by which time an effective new affordable medication may well be available. Plan a solid daily routine & never give up ! If ever you get really down you can always email me at poorlittleme2@gmail.com. While I'm still able I'll always get back to you. All the very Best.

@SHICOFF1 I wish you all the very best. If you are able, get out into nature as this can be very healing and helps to fend off depression & confusion. God Bless.

@SHICOFF1 I think side effects differ from person to person. Before I was first diagnosed some 5 years ago I was already being treated for depression and this treatment has definitely trebled my despair. As I have said, the only way for me is to accept the consequences of laying off of my medication because the alternative was to watch myself go insane. Please understand that this is unique to me and is in no way a picture of how things may turn out for you. Some people hardly feel any effects. We are all walking a fine line together I guess. Try to keep as active as possible and exercise your brain by reading and solving puzzles. I find that sitting out by the river in nature is really beneficial for relaxation and helpful in making important decisions. Whatever you do don't sit around in despair. Bless.

Consider yourself blessed if the Eligard didn't give you ....severe brain fog ...severe depression .....severe mood swings ....severe muscle wasting ..... permanent penile atrophy ...... diabetes ......anemia .......bone loss ...... permanent partial or total CASTRATION as after 18 months or more of ADT, 75 percent of all men WILL NOT RECOVER THEIR TESTOSTERONE LEVELS EVEN AFTER A MEDIAN TIME OF FIVE YEARS. Sadly, drug companies don't want our doctors to give patients FULL DISCLOSURE ABOUT ALL THE HORRIFIC QUALITY OF LIFE DESTROYING SIDE EFFECTS.
