You just answered everyone’s question on hit indicators. I bought the Caldwell a time ago and had reservations on its durability (despite what’s been written/“tested” out there). You’re the man! See you soon. 🇨🇱

Velcro a piece of 1"x2" (or lath) to the back of the steel that extends up above it. Attach the HIT to that. 3 dots, 2 dots, and a dash is "SIT". "HIT" is 4 dots, 2 dots, and a dash.

I am definitely ordering a bunch of those HITS. Cheap and easy to throw in my pack. I have 600 yard range that I have to myself. But I have to pack in everything. So being small and lightweight alone is a reason I want it.

The multi charging can be done easily with a multi pack charger for drones. Mine will charge 10 1500Mah 16V packs at a time and discharge them to storage voltage when your done. For clubs or match directors this would be the way to go. I might take some soldering to modify the multi charge board but if there is a demand I’d be willing to do batches of them.

Thanks for this video buddy. As a match director from a small club, hit indicators were always outside our budget. We have 12-caldwells set up for next weeks Winter War match. Because of your video I just ordered 6-Hornady’s for myself for my long range practice. These hornadys are so cheap, match directors can put them on every single target including pistol targets. Thanks bud

Great showing on this. I've been waiting to see how they work with a real person. You are the best at showing things like this off. Just got back from a PRS match today. I had a few that I thought I hit, but no one could confirm, so I didn't count them on my score. This could have helped a lot with that type of issue. I think if you mount them just under the lower edge of the target, the spall will deflect lower and it should be fairly protected. At least until someone clips the t-post itself, lol. I will probably grab a 10 pack to try out and bring to the next match to test and see what they think. Maybe we can all chip in for the 50 pack and take to each match as they alternate ranges each month. I like it, Ray! And BTW, I ended up 3rd overall today!! My best finish so far in this local series. I might get myself confident enough to try a sanctioned PRS match at Ninnekah in a few months!! Have a great one, sir!!

@XRING Thank you, Ray! I am quite happy. Was not expecting to finish that well. Made plenty of mistakes to work on, but less than previous matches. Trying to get better every month!!

Great content as always. I’m not really sure how, but I had a Caldwell unit come off the plate, cracked, and even open up in two places and it still works. No LED lights were hit but I’m pretty sure some jackass at the range I was at hit the steel with 6.5 while we weren’t looking (using .22 at 330y). Definitely going to give the Hornandy a try next. Thanks!

I have a T1000 but I made the mistake of leaving it out on a target but I think that Texas humidity got it and it no longer functions. I bought 6 Caldwell Flash Bangs and so far they're great, I just make sure to take them off when not in use and store them in an ammo can with a desiccant.

That hornady one is a cycling taillight, even that clip is exactly what you get at a bike shop. I urge you to stop by a bike shop and look for yourself, cycling has had some of the best daybright compact lights like that for 10 years now. I've got two on their charger right now
@XRING

I am sure it is a simple adaptation of a cycling light. However, a cycling light doesn’t have accelerometer to indicate an impact do they ?
@MrPimpmygun
3 ай бұрын
@@XRING I was going to say they added an accelerometer to it. Not a dig at Hornady, just very recognizable design. Garmin sells a set of lights with built in radar that dim and brighten based on distance of vehicles near you, would be interesting to see if that could be implemented in a hit marker in a similar way

With how sensitive the Hornady HIT is, I would be interested to see if it has issues with false indications in a strong wind. I've had several matches where the wind is so strong that it blows the plate around. My T1000s have never had an issue with false indications and from my limited experience with the caldwell in strong wind it doesn't either. But the HIT is so sensitive I would be worried about that.
@harveydanger8282

HIT is extremely sensitive. Put them on my big steel targets at 1000+ and any significant wind causes enough movement of the support that they flash constantly. Look at the 9:45 mark in this video and you will see the neighboring target that was not impacted flash. At risk of getting a lot of false positives IMO

ive gone and watched a few 22prs matches and i don't understand why they use steel. I have a bunch of aluminum plates that i play with and it is so much better with 22s. i get a really nice loud ring and movement

Will they all be set off when being used on the infinite defense targets?
@viking9934
3 ай бұрын
I don’t think it’s a good option because it will detect impacts on the frame or T-post. We already have enough competitors discussing impact and etc it just another potential issue. At the price they charge for prs match they can afford T-1000 or the MDT unit
