I have one of these. It's a nice model for what it is. However, the big letdown is that it has those sealed motors so that Hornby can rob all your money when it dies since the only palce that will fix it is a *Hornby* service dealer. Funnily enough, my motor IS dead, I was thinking about sending it to Hornby and getting a new motor but now I might just go somewhere else.

Thanks for the feedback. That really is a letdown that I did not think about saying in the video. From what I read somewhere else, it is possible to replace it yourself but you have almost only one shot at it as the plastic on that sealed motor is almost guaranteed to break while doing so and you then need to glue it yourself. I guess that although it was not a great motor, the Ring field motor IS very easy to service (although it requires frequent services) and if it dies, I can be replaced with a CD drive motor.

@@leewaymodels I wish we still ahd ringfields. Just another quick cash grab from Hornby that was, should have figured from the price tag. Recetly purchased a Railroad Strathclyde Class 101, has the same shit motor

@@trainman86trainstramsandmore I agree that they should've done it differently for servicability. I'm curious, does your class 101 has lights?
