Finally got some tracks down. There was a problem with the 4 Amp power supply, which just died with a loud pop. That was replaced by Hornby. Got a HM 6010 and a few point motors in the meantime ready for the big switch on. It's getting there now - started to position the track pieces and some initial test running.
Some odd behaviour where there was chuffing noises coming from Mallard but no movement since running the auto calibration - maybe time to re-download the profile.
Next stage will be the inner sidings (I realise I need more left hand points now), wiring up and running more trains at the same time, hopefully with no collisions! I'm toying with the idea of adding an inner loop, but have to look at the wiring aspects for DCC.
