Thank you for commenting and I am planning to make another video on making a cue. I’m planning to make a break cue with a purple heart shaft.

It's great you have the skills to do your own cue work. Is this your dedicated jump cue?

What material is the White Storm tip made of? I am also curious about the Gold Rush break tip material. I cannot find any sources that say the material used - I know phenolic tips are banned in some halls, so I want to make sure I'm staying within guidelines!

To tell you the truth I don’t really know. It’s not phenolic. It’s more like Taom. It’s is easy to cut, it keeps sharp and it holds chalk really well. Hope this helps, don’t forget to subscribe and please share.

@@playpool12fyao how does it compare to taom?
@playpool12fyao

@TheRastaaaaaaa it is very comparable. It grips the cue a bit more than the Black Storm. As for Taom and the White Storm, the White Storm is dedicated for jumping. Hope this helps.

Between a G10 and Bullet proof clear tip, which one would you recommend more for breaking and jumping?
@playpool12fyao
Жыл бұрын
G10 is glass impregnate with resin and bullet proof is polycarbonate “lexan”. G10 is one of the hardest if not the hardest tip out in the market. For breaking hard or jumping, G10 to me is the best. For a cut breaks I like and use a Horo tip. I use all Horo tips for my jump cues because I can control the cue ball when jumping. I play with 2 break shaft, one G10 for 10 ball and hard 8 ball breaks. Horo Black for 9 ball because I can control the cue break. Thank you for commenting, please subscribe if haven’t already and hope this helps.

May I ask what you're using to protect your table for the jump shots? The square piece? I've recently acquired a Propel and wish to do repetitive jump practice, but don't want to damage the table.

During games nothing really but when practicing, I double up the square piece. Also congratulations on getting one of the best jump cue on the market. Flatten the tip and knock out the sharpe edges on the tip so it won’t cut the table cloth and it will add a lot of confidence on your jump shots. Hope this helps, please subscribe if haven’t already and please share.

@@playpool12fyao Thanks so much for taking the time to respond! I'd like to clarify and ask what the square piece is, actually? Is it just a piece of felt you're using?
@playpool12fyao

They are they are just a piece of felt. If you don’t have any, I seen Jayson Shaw use paint’s tape. I would even use playing cards. The felt or tape is to prevent burn mark on the felt. The burn mark wears the table cloth (felt) faster making a hole later. Hope this helps.

That is incredibly helpful, thank you very much for your time and response - you are a scholar and a gentleman. And you should know I've reached out to the Horo people to test out their Break/Jump and Jump tips for myself after your videos!

That is awesome. The jump tip really works well with the Propel. For the break tip, it really works best with a medium stun 9 ball break. The tip does not require a hard break to open up the rack especially for 9 ball. If you have any questions just ask and I’ll do my best to answer them.

How does this jump tip perform compared to a g10 or white diamond jump tip?
@playpool12fyao
2 жыл бұрын
Comparing anything to a G10, there is no comparison. G10 is far better for breaking and jumping especially if you’re a beginner. With that said, one thing G10 and white diamond does not have over the Horo tip is that, the Horo tip can cling to the CB much better. The Horo jump tip is more dense to me and it felt like I can control the CB much better. G10 and white diamond is like a steel hammer where the Horo Jump tip is like a brass hammer. The steel hammer is just for wacky things in where the brass hammer is used for precision. If you want control and better action from the CB the Horo Jump tip is the way to go. Hope this helps and please share.
