I fell in Love with Hooker Ranch Equine Refuge watching the last Horse Rescue Heroes. I was hoping they would win and was so pleased when they got the horse trailer! Thank you all for what you do for the horses in need!

I remember that she was excited about the trailer... Now it makes sense - it filled an immediate need. And the cost of those things DID make her rescue a winner! ❤❤ Hooker & Lazy B are great people! Super happy for them both & glad they're part of the network!! And everyone learning new best practices from each other so that all are successful is so important.

I ❤ the way you help all horses, even those who need to be given their wings. You save them from a lonely long death where nobody cares or will help. ❤Thank you 💖

I could tell that the Hooker Ranch Rescue organization was really thrilled to receive that horse trailer from Horse Plus. It was definitely a win-win!

My comment is blunt and some will not like it but, those who criticize rescues for rescuing those you can't save from their condition (illness or injury which can't be healed), those are the same people that walk down a street and look away if an elderly person falls or another is in danger. Those are no better than the people who discard their horses or pets when they get old and cost too much to bother, or horses that get injured and can no longer 'earn' their keep. Then the worst thing... to get every cent possible, send them to auction caring only about unloading them for what they can get.

Yes it's the same people who ignore old weak people ignore old weak horses. You either have a heart or you don't.

Exactly, I help many different rescues and belong to different groups on messenger dedicated to saving horses! I've encountered some of these rescues bashing Horse plus and others because they rescue horses that ultimately are euthanized. The thing is, most of these rescues would not waste the funds to rescue such a horse. You can't save them all, some are way past saving, but you can end suffering. It's ridiculous to think a rescue should pour limited resources into saving an animal that will never recover and be in pain the rest of its life!

These podcast interviews are great. They help us to follow the great idea of networking and whats going on and how EVERYBODY learns ideas from all of you. A NET goes in all directions. Lisa is a beautiful person. It touched me that much her talking about her military experience and then later on being able to handle the worst of the worst. She has a very DEEP soul. I love to hear more of these podcasts and hope Lisa finds the volunteers she needs. Greeting from Germany

And if there could be CONTINUEING podcasts even (Lazy B already does/did) with Carrie and KT and pony tales - your "inner" circle. I think Lisa in my eyes is just a first place winner, too and belongs TO YOU the same level. Sometimes there can be 2 winners side by side on one position❤

Has Hooker Ranch thought of connecting with the schools, community, shelter or veteran places to see if anyone would love to volunteer????

Could be great therapy for vets if theyve not been thru too much.

There is a horse lesson place here, that got involved in the local high school rodeo. There is any given day when you can find 6 volunteers feeding, organizing, moving horses. Just for thought. Further comment: work off an 12 to18 month calendar. Just remember to keep YOU healthy.

fletcher farm armadillo in Texas could possibly take your big butts drafts for retirement if you contact them

Yes Fletcher Farms does love those big drafts I think that’s all they have they rescue. I don’t think they just rescue regular size horses. They’re all those big draft horses so if you ever have some and they take them and they’re injured and stuff, not severely of course you know where they have to put them down, but where they can give them some life left, keep that in mind

They have rescued a non-draft horse and adopted it out and donkeys that are still at the farm, they have also rescued draft horses that needed euthanizing. @@judytinker3392

Is there any way that the organizations that have people in those volunteer or paid positions could put something together to help train volunteers for the smaller organizations who desperately need them? I'm just thinking that there might be some potential volunteers watching that would be willing to help if they could get some training or a mentorship of some type? Maybe you already do something like this and I've just missed it.
