Fantastic video. I had assistance from the family member who gave us the bed. My partner passed and now I must disassemble the bed frame. This video and your explanation is fantastic. What I did was at each connection using a sharpie I mark the connecting pieces with a letter from the alphabet (A-A, C-C, etc.) so that the head board foot board etc. is placed correctly. Some people aren’t mechanically inclined. Thank you for your time and effort in assisting us.

Thank you! You helped a ton when we had to put ours together. We didn’t know the frame came apart into two pieces so moving it was a pain.😅

Let me make your life a whole lot easier! Instead of bending over, scraping the floor trying go line the foot and head springs up... place the head/foot boards down across from one another. Pick up and place the foot and head spring sections into the hinges. Use your foot against the wheel, and "bridge" the foot and head springs together. Using the wheels of the footboards to gently line them up!

Great tip! I'll have to try that next time. The warehouse floor I'm working on doesn't care, but on someones nice hardwood floor, I see the need!

Anyone have any ideas for raising the whole bed if the crank is missing? Thank you
@Whatarewefixingtoday
Жыл бұрын
The shape of the crank is basically a tube with a slot cut in the end. I'm sure there is a picture of one on the internet. A steel tube from a Menards/Home Depot and a hacksaw is all it tales to build one. Otherwise the bar underneath you can take out and turn the bed ends one at a time with it. It also shows you what the crank end looks like. It will be easier if the bed is not occupied.

Three years ago, I bought a bed off craigslist. The woman helped me get it into the back of my car. At home, I was able to maneuver it around and get it out and onto a furniture dolly, one piece at a time. Got it into the house and started putting it together. It weighed a ton. But with a lot of grunting and about an hour of struggling, was able to get it put together, except for the rod to raise the bed, I couldn't push it hard enough to get it installed. My husband went to a rest home and he wanted his bed. SO it was reversing the process, but I am now 83 and was afraid of it falling, so got the Hoyer lift and used it to help disassemble it. At the rest home, the handyman helped get it put back together. Only problem, the electric motor doesn't make the bed go up and down. Everything else works. Any ideas?

If you push the button and it doesn't make any noise, it's probably a disconnected wire on the controller. Make sure all the wires are in there tight.

How can I get in touch with you? I need to assess my Invacare G5301 and am trying to see videos or pictures to find out if I reversed the lifting arms. The head spring is not rising. I am hoping it is not the motor.

I need help! My husband is bedridden. Power went out. Head of bed upright for 6 hours. Semi automatic bed but no crank provided. No instructions were provided …the remote for bed is an Invacare and I presume bed ordered by VA is Invacare or Drive. What type crank is needed?

Have you looked under the bedframe for the crank? My father’s bedframe is brown, and the crank is brown metal, too. It rather blends in. Look closely near the foot of the bed and on the springs under the mattress. Prayers for you and your dear husband. 🕊

👍 thank you so much for your great teaching instructions. Is there a way to buy new motor for these beds ? We have a bed where the motor is not working anymore. I appreciate your advice thank you. 🌺

These motors are a little hard to come by, but it is usually not the motor. The main failure point is the remote. If the motor goes or tries to go 1 direction and not the other, it's not the motor. It's likely the remote, or possibly the controller, and my last choice while repairing would be that motor. (on that bed)

Hey I swear mine came in folded so the wheels were low and the entire unit was like a metal box with little depth.
