I feel like the scenes with the hoodies and Gabrielle should have been left in. Would tie up Nicholas' interaction with them during the climax.

It's always interesting to me how much good material a good editor throws away. Most of these are pretty good jokes, but they would have thrown off the pacing, so they had to go. You have to be ruthless.

@@LouisK364 The film was supposed to be monotonous in the beginning. It's a dichotomy between what the audience is feeling vs what Angel is feeing. He can't switch off.

5:05 That actually excellent foreshadowing. Earlier in the movie, Frank described Sergeant Bobwell as "an exceptional officer, truly exceptional"...which is exactly what he just called Nicholas. It's a perfect way to show how Nicholas is heading the in the same direction that Bobwell did

I'm actually upset the school kid scenes were cut. It felt a little out of nowhere at the end of the film when Angel asked them for assistance. I think they could have cut down the time on those scenes, and they would have fit right in.

5:07 that's Angel's predecessor as sergeant at the village, who went missing! You hear inspector talking about him when Angel arrives ("big mushy beard!"), and towards the end of the movie we see his corpse in the catacombs. Oh, the level of details!

That kid's career was one the verge of shooting upwards around this time in 2006 but by the time this film was released it foundered. £2m four-album deal with Sony BMG off, all his scenes cut from a major comedy film, and he lost a part in Narnia to Will Poulter (same age).

The scene with the spray kids is foreshadowing for all the murderers wearing matching hoods and for Angel asking them to spray over cameras. Since no music and other sound cues are being used to portray the deleted scenes, it might be harder to imagine them fitting in

I was just as confused by that. I watched this film at 16 when it first came out and remember thinking during the scene when Nicholas is getting his picture taken with the school "Man, that girl standing to the right of him is going to be cute in a few years." Come to find out that was a boy :/

@@potato1341 This was a deleted scene. In the theatrical release he didn't have a speaking role or even a given name. Finding out the kid's name was Gabriel is the only thing that gave it away.

It is so upsetting that they were cut from the film... All of the clips are worth to be in the actual film, it could have made the film more successful (maybe not financially, but by recognition) but I'm not saying that the film weren't successful (actually, it is one of my top favorite film *not just by comedy* tied with Shaun of the Dead). And some of the clips were actually important in the film. Well, f**k the DVD Marketing. (Shaun of the Dead also have some extended/deleted scenes, and it is quite upsetting)
