One of our favorite things to do is go steelhead fishing. We live 40 min from erie tribs.

Would you say it’s best to fish these smaller creeks a day after a good rain or a couple days?

I would say a day or two after should be pretty good. These streams can get real tough when the water is lower and clear. You want it to be stained. One time I did struggle in higher water here, so I think there's a happy medium between high and low that should be good. IMO water levels are not that important, it is the clarity you want to pay attention to

If u ever make it to the oregon I'll put u on some dime bright fresh steelies but u really can't catch prettier fish then during the spawn second question do you come up to alaska we get all 5 salmon and dollies monster pike

Use the net and keep the fish in the water. You're doing more harm than good by dragging them onto the shore...
