I steam my beard by rising my washcloth with piping hot water. I do this every in the morning before applying my oil and butter. I only wash my beard once a week. I think by doing this, it opens my follicle and pores to allow the oils to soak in. Leave my beard feeling silky, smooth and slick.

I use lukewarm water when washing my beard as a newbie to the beard game. Figured this would be the best solution of both hot and cold.

Great video! Been watching a lot of your stuff because, even as a white man, my beard is super gnarly and curly. Just a wiry mess. I use a heated brush daily to maintain a soft, easy to groom beard. However, I do a warm water rinse to open things up, then I do a cool water blast to close things up before towel drying. I then apply beard oil and get my routine underway. I feel this cold blast helps a lot but cannot figure out what it is exactly. It’s just nice. I feel it styles easier.

I do use hot water to rinse out the butter or balm, which I agree. Sometimes when I'm almost done showering, I turn to cool or cold water for a bit. But not always. Nice video effect! 👌🏻

For the last few months ive used a warm water to wash and rinse then hit it with cold at the end. For my beard the warm breaks down the garbage and products and the cold in the end actually causes the blood to rush to the skin which helps the hair follicles be healthier. Thats just my beard routine though. We are all different. As always love the content brother and keep the beard knowledge flowing

Great video. Thanks for sharing your experience. For me I've seen positive results by rinsing my face in the morning with icy cold water. I always remember a holiday when we visited a vineyard in a very arid Greek island. The owner said that the best vines are those that suffer some stress and need to fight for everything. My beard seems to respond in the same way 😄

I just started my beard journey 4 weeks ago and I followed you and some other brothers here on KZitem. Being that my beard isn't as long or thick as y'alls, but my work mates are telling me how good it looks and that its getting along quite well. When washing ..I know this may get old.. I rinse with warm/hot water using my wash cloth in the direction of of the grain. I guess I'm trying to "train" it? After drying it with the same damp wash cloth, that's when I apply the oil and balm. It seems to do fine for now at the length that it is. However, I have use cold to lukewarm in the rinsing process but couldn't discern any difference ..so far. I'm in the mirror for an hour brushing until my "desired look" and I carry a brush everywhere I go. It might be futile after while, being that I am black, but I don't want it looking too nappy. I simply dont know my family's beard DNA because the guys on both sides don't really grow beards accept one uncle, and his always looked good in the past. I Apologize for the long comment but if you see where I need Any redirecting, please holla at cha brah. Appreciate cha

@Valkyry5
4 жыл бұрын
@@khabirhassien Man, I don't know. It's pretty much what you vision it to be? My hair is kinda tightly curled like some of our brothers here. I just don't want a too nappy beard, but..I'm new to this journey. I'm kinda Ebonically OCD with this? Meaning, I do a lot of something I "feel" make sense but change as I go along with research. If there's a spot that's not growing thick enough, I lightly comb and brush about a hundred or so strokes..as much as my skin can bare until I see progress in a few days. I came to understand where the grain of my hair is going and work with it. It seem....to me now, which I know will change..that hot water with the grain, seems to Reset the beard where I can oil and balm it along with a 30 mins to 1 hour of brushing. This is "MY" Evolution, I'm just starting out, man, so please take this with a grain of salt. I'm just taking what I heard I my life from different experiences I picked up from folks who had the best head full of waves I ever seen and bits and pieces from what I heard about hair care from my family. We'll see where this where this goes.
