Excellent video - to the point and does absolute justice to the title. Thanks so much!

It was awesome to see all of your comparisons, thanks for having all the models for us to look at. I agree that we shouldn't be comparing apples to oranges. I think for me, if it's a car of any brand that is really exciting to me, more often than not I am willing to pay whatever the cost is (within reason of course). None of the Elite64 cars have been interesting to me, therefore it has been a no brainer to not purchase them. But that's not to say there won't be an offering in the future that I absolutely must have, even with the higher price tag. Great video!

Overall I think the elite Mercedes is nice for a 6 to 7 dollar hot wheel premium but not at the price it was selling for. If it had inserts for all the lights it would have made it look great and I probably would have bought one but I passed on it due to the high amount of painted lights. The interest in each elite model will probably come down to opinion as I did pick up the chaser since it was it's debut into hot wheels and I like rear wheel drive toyota cars. I hope hot wheels continues the elite line and really assimilates the feedback it gets to make the elite line really something special.

Great video. I'm still on the fence about Elite 64. Don't get me wrong I love both models, but I'm still not sure how much more they can do without getting into RLC territory. Thanks for sharing Phil. 👍

i remember reading about mattel wanting to do a line like tarmac global 64 wich his the lower end of tarmac works, after seing elite 64 it makes sens to compare it to tarmac global 64 very similar in quality, finition and details

For collectors here in europe ELITE 64 is overpriced and to be honest i think it is a trashy try from mattel to compete with other brands like mini gt. I believe premiums are great for 8 euros but ELITE 64 for 40 euros with shipping.... It is a joke... And i agree with u that hot wheels premiums are far better if u consider the cost comparing to other brands u pay 15 or 20. But the ELITE 64 is not...

Good comparison, thanks for sharing. Hot Wheels are unique in the die cast space, and it really comes down to preference. For me, I'm looking for the most accurate models...so scale, casting definition and detail is most important to me. As such, I would generally choose the MiniGT, Tarmac, Schucco etc. vs Hot Wheels in the same price category. No doubt that "bang for buck" the HW mainlines are good value. Being a Canadian also, I'm finding that RLC, Elite64 and even some Premiums are getting too rich for my blood and not worth the price vs these other premium brands.

I passed on this Mercedes frankly I didn't like it at all. I thought about getting it just to have the whole set but I said no. You know I will be trying to get that Nova when it comes online Tuesday

Just a heads up the Kyosho are diecast with a plastic base, the metal is just thin. Resin tend to be a lot more expensive when done well (for a few reasons). Imo the scale nature of the true 1/64 cars is the big difference, which is why it’s easier to compare elite 64 with these other brands than 3 inch hot wheels. Nice comparison, agreed it just comes down to personal preference.

Phill. 1st maybe you just pulled up the only examples where hotwheels might win in your opinion. But in general, price/quality ratio is not in favour of hotwheels at allll. Add to it you have to show the real market price. This porsche sells for 100 to 200dollars...and those peemium are for 20.

@@mtldiecastcafe Scalper.matel. the ending average price is the market price. maybe this another bad point that Matel should work on is that they are not meeting demand. If they do so, the scalpers will not exist... unless they wanted it this way.

Not alot of company's do, and I don't feel it is really important either. Greenlight, Johnny lightning, kaido house and m2 don't follow scale either.

I agree. Not alot of brands respect the scale. The only brand that comes to mind is Tomica which they write the scale 1/whatever, but it is really hard accurately lower the scale of you do some research. Hot Wheels did make the 100% at one time and I believe it is the closest to the scale but not sure about it. But at the end, it doesn't matter to some collectors because that casting can be only available in a that specific size. Every manufacturer use softwares when it comes to scaling but have to alter sometimes to accommodate the size for the packaging and whatnot
