Cambodia is a country I should of travelled to when I had the chance. Since 2004 I have been to Philippines 6 times, Thailand 5 times. I love South East Asia. With this virus it could be years before international travel is normal again.

I stayed at Silver River last year. Staff was great but the hotel was a little dated and in need of remodeling. Found a few good restaurants near by and it's a pretty good location with many sights within walking distance (tuk tuks everywhere if you want a ride). Phnom Penh is an interesting place. I'm not sure what it is about the place, but I liked it. Visiting S21 and the Killing Fields messed me up for a few days, leaving me in a bit of a funk. As I explored more of Cambodia I couldn't shake the thought in the back of my head that everyone over the age of 50 lived though it somehow. Took the "speed boat" to Siem Reap on a beautiful day and enjoyed the scenery along the Tonle Sap for 8 hours. Great choice, and Angkor Wat was well worth it.

I really enjoyed this one. My wife is from Battambang and has been needling me to visit Cambodia with her and her family since we've been married (25 years). I've always balked as I assumed it was just a hell-hole basically. From the looks of it it's come a long way in the past 20 years. I'd certainly entertain the thought now .............thanks to your videos !

It may sound strange, but I would stop over in Cambodia just to meet some interesting people at that Sundance Saloon. I have always enjoyed good conversation in foreign bars. I figure within 5 to 10 years Cambodia will be a premier destination for more people that are burnt out on Thailand.

MRBARBARYCOAST You are right that it will become a major destination but not for westerners. Cambo is full of Chinese due to the lack of gambling laws. Souky has 24 casinos and 20 of them are for Chinese only.

Great Video of Phnom Penh Bangkok 112, I saw a lot of familiar places. I haven't looked around 172 Street much yet, but maybe next trip. Have you had a look at the River Star Hotel on 118 street? its girl friendly & if you get a higher floor on the river side of the building, great views of the river & the passing boats & river barges. I last stayed there in November & really enjoyed my stay there, even though they were doing a little Renovation work on the hotel. short walk to 130 & 136 Street bar areas. keep up the great videos!! I've enjoyed watching them & seeing different view point of the city! cheers

13:07 I never stayed at that boutique. But I stayed at the hotel to the left. The owners have an apartment building like 5 or 6 doors down (on the same block). Great part of town. Last year, I ended up changing my tickets, visa etc... I stayed 60 days man... BTW, I never had problems with that ATM in the front. You brought back memories for me bro.

Are you going to Souky ( Sihanoukville)? I can heartily recommend an Irish Restaurant called McGuiness Irish Cottage. The pork ribs are incredible. I have taken 3 buses on an incredible nightmare of a journey to get to Souky many times before and those ribs made it worth it every time. And as a bonus, it is situated within a beer/girlie bar complex, perfect for your people watching.

7:02 Ganzberg is brewed in Phnom Penh and has as much to do with 'German beer' as Hindustan has with German cars. Tsingtao in contrast once really was a German owned brewery in colony times and still brews after same old recipe and 'Reinheitsgebot' (purity instruction).

I’ve been to Thailand loads but am going to Vietnam later this year for the first time then at some point next year hope to do Cambodia and knowing prices in pounds aswell would be a great help ☺️😜 but keep up the great work 👍🏻

Eggs in Asia S.E. Asia included, tend to be fresher than in the west. Wouldn't worry much about eating the runny parts if your eggs do happen to come out of the kitchen that way. Served eggs like that in the U.S., where "farm fresh eggs" are not any kind of fresh at all, I would be wary of.

@wrightst8

You sometimes get their currency (Riel) back in your change from purchasing in US$. You can use both currencies, even in the same transaction. I personally use 'Maybank' by St 144 and Norodom Boulevard as they don't charge ATM fees for my UK Visa card (Mastercard is charged though). Other Khmer Banks charge $3 to $5 per withdrawal. All ATM's dispense US$

Thanks for all of your videos. I've always had interest in traveling to Thailand thanks to the influence of military friends and the beautiful exotic women. I'm an African-American male in my early 50's. After watching several of your videos I didn't see many African-American males even younger guys. How are African-American men perceived and received in Bangkok and Pattaya? Any insight you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Spare no truth, my feelings won't be hurt. lol lol
