That Stephen A interview was amazing. It was great to see him talk about serious topics and giving real love to Dan.

Interesting choice that one of the example lines that Dan mentions is kids in cages. 'Cause that's one of the things that hasn't gone away post-2020, but it's definitely become a thing that's not fought about in the same way with the current administration. And even granting that efforts being made to reunite families is a positive step, the policy overall (detention, Remain in Mexico, etc.) is still happening. So it's clearly only a line to draw when Donald is in power, because Dan hasn't been railing against it post-election, even if he still feels the same way. And I say that as someone who voted against Donald in both 2016 and 2020. The funny thing is, even though the current policy still largely the same as Donald's policy, it's not even winning conservatives over; they're basically all convinced Biden's turned the border into a turnstile in spite of his border policy being a huge disappointment to progressives. The successful framing of Biden into some sort of radical when he's at best center-left is mind-boggling to someone who is looking at him as a less mean (but just as confused) Donald with like 15% better policies. Like, he's pro-more cops, pro-more oil and gas drilling, isn't interested in anything larger than cosmetic changes when it comes to preventing climate change, dealing with student debt, fixing healthcare, criminal justice, etc. The fact that he's seen as some insidious force of destruction of conservative values as opposed to just more of the same feckless 21st century Democrat-ing is a testament to the power of the right-wing propaganda machine, really.
