I am a retired New Orleans fireman. Those are the worst firefighters I have seen in nearly 30 years. Totally inexcusable, but that's what happens when the public settles for a volunteer fire department. YOU DID THE RIGHT THING!!! Film all you want from a safe distance. As long as you are being respectful of the victims, and not showing the faces of children or injured people, there is no problem. IF THEY ARE AFRAID TO BE FILMED, THAT MEANS THEY KNOW THEY ARE SCREWED UP, AND DON'T WANT PROOF OF IT. WE DIDN'T MIND PEOPLE FILMING US, BECAUSE IT WAS A CHANCE TO SHOW WHAT WE DO EVERY DAY, AND THE CITIZENS GOT TO SEE THEIR TAX DOLLARS PAY OFF. NEW ORLEANS FIRE DEPARTMENT AND NEW YORK ALLOW FILM CREWS TO RIDE WITH THEM, TO MAKE TV SHOWS AND DOCUMENTARIES. AS LONG AS YOU ARE FILMING FROM A SAFE PLACE AND ARE NOT IN THE WAY OF OPERATIONS, YOU ARE GOOD TO GO. THEY HAD ENOUGH MANPOWER TO MOVE A MOUNTAIN AND NONE OF THEM DID ANYTHING CONSTRUCTIVE OR PRODUCTIVE. That was a small one or two room contents fire, that was allowed to get into an attic of a pitched roof. Metropolitan departments handle those types of fires on a regular basis with half the manpower. It is as routine as a policeman writing a parking ticket- no big deal. They acted like it was a high-rise hotel with people trapped. As I said in my other comment, you could tell by the way they were driving, and the fact that they all have $1,000 of the blinking lights in their personal cars, that they are more worried about gadgets and playing fireman than protecting the public.

Just an FYI, ammo in a house fire is potentially dangerous to FFs but its not as bad as people think, as shown in movies. The ammo is not going to explode all at once and send hundreds of rounds screaming at full velocity in all directions. Because the ammo is not confined to a gun barrel, when the primer "cooks off", the brass or metal case will explode, sending shrapnel for a few feet but not at extremely high velocity. The exploding case limits velocity of the projectile itself to a much lower value than from a barrel as designed. A FFs heavy suit could provide some protection and maybe stop the shrapnel or even the round itself. The round itself will travel a few feet and would be capable of penetrating a few inches of flesh if you were standing close by but won't likely penetrate a wall or a FFs helmet. So while its dangerous and should be respected, its NOTHING like in the hollywood movies. I keep my ammo in metal boxes out of concern for FFs if ever there was a fire. There are videos on youtube where guys experiment with exposing ammo to fire and film the results. Find these videos and decide for yourself.

I was amazed that people were so close to the fire. It was unsafe!

Those were firefighters. They just didn’t have any equipment.

As for this question of videoing public safety (police and FFs) people, I think its great so long as you STAY OUT OF THE WAY and DON'T SHOUT AT THEM or HARASS them if you disagree with their decisions. Let them do their jobs and there will be time enough when the event is done to critique or even visit an attorney if you feel you've been wronged. Interfering or resisting is the WORST THING you can do and WON'T CHANGE the outcome one bit. Not obeying lawful orders from public safety is what gets people shot or put in hospital then people protest and get angry when it all could have been avoided by using one's brain instead of following emotion.

THE FD WAS AWFUL! They all should have been fired for causing a second house to catch fire tbh

I relieve I commented on the first video that you gave great camera content. As a viewer I picked up quickly that the fire department was not doing all they could. Too much standing around and walking around. It took way to long to get water on the fire and when they did it was on the wrong place since the charlie and delta was where the fire was worse which led to the exposure catching fire. I can see why the firemen are not happy about the video and videos don't lie which shows a poor performance. The harassment to you shows their level maturity. Nice job man!

When the firefighter was harsh with you, he was probably concermed for your safety. What if that propane exploded when you were standing there?? You would've been seriously injured or even killed. That woulda sucked❗❗❗❗

It was still a great 👍 video feed there was no need to get angry at you because the fire fighters had for got that the police control the pedestrians, as well letting the structure get out of control, but my question is did the next county fighters help after it was to late
