Great video. Very well done. What about a video on food shopping? Kyla says some items you would expect to be common are very hard to find. And I think she said some food is pretty expensive.

Hello Julian, thank you so much for your videos, they truly are helpful. I would love to know more about the families that go there together as I am changing careers and would love to know how to plan. How much would rent be for a 3-4 bedroom house/apartment? How expensive is it to rent a car there? While families are there, can the kids attend school? What kinds of activities do the spouses do while the other is in med school? Thank you again for your time. Jannerys.

@@juliansolotorres hi! I really hope you make a video answer to the questions above! It would be so helpful. Additionally, can spouses find work, if so what kind and pay?
@juliansolotorres

The most i've seen is a couple with a small child (around 2 years old). The child would attend day care at a local facility. One parent was a PA and would do work online while doing TELE-Medicine while the other was a medical student. Rent for a decent 3 bedroom hose is around 2500-3000$USD. A decent rental car is about 350$USD. Grenada does not allow US citizens work for pay (the pay is very little) unless you specifically apply for SGU as a mentor, advisor etc. These require at least an MD or Masters, you'll have to get a work visa which may take a while to get. @@JannerysBatista

Pretty cool video😊, will definitely recommend if anyone asks, becausw students do inquire and are curious about these things (I say as a former Student Ambassador and new Alumni), i was always curious about housing on campus cause im local, so no need😂😂😂. Also, AC on campus is there to conbat the tropical heat😅, its much easier to manage than every dorm having individual units😋

No cellphones and internet off campus wasn't an option for most people. I would definitely do it all over again. I landed my dream job, with friends and colleagues from all over the world. The hardest part was being away from family. Coming from Ca it was impossible to fly home for weddings, funerals, ect.. Lastly, no one asks me where I went to medical school. Residency, sure;) Good Luck! I played sports at UCSD, and to this day the intramural matches we would have (basketball, flagfootball) were some of the most competitive times in my life:) We still talk about those Friday night games to this day:) @@juliansolotorres

What a change from my days in 1985-86! Where the dorms (True Blue Campus) consisted of very rustic amenities, (not to mention the invasion etc..) living and grooming relying on Cup showers (Water shortage) and hanging 5 Galons container to make Sun Tea!!. Calling home consisted of calling the operator and waiting many hours for a return call to get a line in the US. Dr. Alpert (for which the dorm in this presentation was named for) was a very good teacher in the island of St. Vincent. (He used to say to us students “You are no Ball of fire!!” Ha ha!! Very Proud to see how St. George’s has evolved to become a great school I feel proud to have attended! 😊
