A fabulous memory with the truly GREAT Bill Yeoman as our Head Coach. May he Rest In Peace.

The Veer was one of the greatest offenses of that day. I really miss some of the offenses and coaches. Bill Yoeman was one of the best for sure. He invented the Veer Offense.

Also, back in the day when there were only 10 Bowl games reserved for teams that had a really good year, not 40 Bowls made up of a lot of 7-5 and 6-6 teams that were expanded to become a 3 hour infomercial by the corporate sponsors and added revenues for Disney, and NFL rookies made 75k a year, not 8 million/yr. I don't fault these kids one bit for protecting their future to skip a Cheez-It commercial football bowl game. When the big bowl games like the Orange Bowl became the FED EX Orange Bowl, it's obvious everyone was looking for the dollars, so to blame a 22 year old kid protecting his only chance to be a millionaire in a sport where one knee injury ends his chances, is unfair. These Bowl's were once a great idea and then became a beautiful spectacle that should have become extinct gracefully, but old money and greed kept them as propped up pomp at the degradation of top teams meeting to find out who's best, as the declaration of a "national champion" was a farce for over 40 years when it didn't have to be. At least we'll eventually get the 8 to 16 team playoff that the sport should have had since the 80's.
