I'm 65 and iv'e lived in Minnesota all my life. This is a typical forecast for Thanksgiving week, although temps have been above average untill about a week ago. Today Valentine's Day it is -20F an 10mph wind. That is normal here for this time of year. NOTE: unless you can walk a mile without danger of hypothermia you are not dressed warm enough. Body heat will suddenly drop off. I learned this during a time when I walked to work. Dress in layers so you can adjust the insulation you're wearing as temps change and your body or vehicle warms. Unfortunately many of you Texans do not have the proper clothing on hand. Unless you have experienced sub-zero temps and wind it may be best to stay home or find a weather experienced neighbor who could assist you with errands. Simply put a lot of you need a cold weather guide on your Minnesota Safari.

@@josuepereira3673 a slow drip will not cause that great if a pressure drop. It's too bad that Houston has an antiquated infrastructure. The infrastructure in NY is older than Houston and it's rare that water pressure drops in any significant form. Everything will be fine. Global warming means an increase in the average global temperature, which throws weather systems out of whack leading to more extreme weather scenarios like extremely cold winters in some parts of the world. The global weather system is extremely sensitive to change, and the human impacts on it (the explosion of emissions starting in the 20th century) is what is throwing it out of whack.
