Groholski was so underrated at this point. I remember Hawk even talking him up in a quote for a Vision ad. Something about the judges at comps completely missing how consistent and unique he was. Lip trick master.

My growing up era! When boards were big and the ramps bigger! Southern California IE. We had a nice big ramp up in Crestline with a channel and a nice ramp in Apple Valley. I still have my Pipeline card! And skated Delmar when visiting my cousins in Chula Vista. And shredding the streets. We would get dropped off downtown and skate all day! Still hitting the parks here in Texas. Waco has a nice place and Austin has two that I hit! Love watching the old contests! Used to see Lance Mountain and Lester with the Albas at Pipe all the time! First time I was skating the Combi Lance said keep at it kid you're doing good 👍! But really those dudes hardly let the little kids roll in!!! But I'm still skating at 52!!

@a You have a point here: Ken Fillion would float 10' above Kahuna regularly, placing him 24' off the ground around that ramp. That 10' transition and 2' vert steel ramp was built for flying. I did that too, myself, on that monster as a teen-ager.
