I have to say, as a guy who grew up with knowledge of male reproductive function, I never learned much about female reproduction. I had no clue about most of this stuff and I'm glad someone is finally talking about it! Seriously there are so many myths and misconceptions about female reproductive function that get spread among boys and young men, it's insane.

Our grade 13 biology teacher insisted to the class that men and women urinated and had sex with only "one hole". So I grabbed 2 gfs and went up to the fb coach, biology teacher and asked "sir? How can women pee with tampons in if it's all the same "hole"? " he turned red and told us he tell us next class. I was going to Nursing school in the fall so had spent time in textbooks in the library. So I went to the grade 11 female biology teacher and told her about our lesson. She howled with laughter, and said she'd chat with coach. She and Coach taught the next class together on male female urinary and reproductive anatomy. We were 19yr olds and were making jokes that Coaches wife must be much happier now!

Fun. I remember about twenty years back at some student party, I mentioned female erection in passing - yes, it was at that stage of the party. And everybody present, about ten people, most academics, all supposedly well-educated young people, nurses and medical students amongst them, probably all sexually active for several years, found the notion utterly hilarious. And ribbed me incessantly on my "strange idea" that such a thing exists. Nowadays I would just tell them to take out their phones and look it up. Back then in the dark ages, I had to just accept that they all where completely clueless and let it rest.

@@theanatomylab Yes, that. And thank you for it. Well done educational content, as usual from you. What exhasperated me most back then was the point that even the women present ridiculed the idea. While I simply could not understand how anybody who ever had some fun with a vulva involved - lets assume 80-90% of adult population? - could not notice that the ladyparts do - of course - also do some obvious swelling and inflating. Dependent on the fun had, of course. Now, I can somehow imagine a few 20something guys ignoring that lived experience. But the gals too? *sigh* Ah well, water under the bridge. I'm so glad there are educational videos like this one to help me understand my body. I just had my first gyno exam. Let me tell you that I really didn't even understand my own body as a female until I actually went to a doctor, and she pointed everything out to me. I think the female reproductive anatomy is harder to understand because most of it is internal, so it's just not as obvious what's going on as it is for the males. I can see why it's so easy for misconceptions to run wild, even among women sometimes. I am still learning about my anatomy, and it's a super helpful part of my life.

So, I did know the workings of my reproductive system from a "distance" you could say, but I just didn't really have a full grasp on my own internal anatomy because of my condition, at least not until I had a doctor help me with a gyno exam.

These details of female sexual anatomy are also pertinent to the males. Males also start out as wide eyed naive participants. Young males often view sexual activity solely from the pursuit of their own pleasure. It is a revelation to young males how females have the same, if not stronger, depths of pleasure than males. It is how nature ensures the continuation of the species. Relevant to most other animals etc.

All to many of we humans, especially the old men l have run into would rather live in denial or a smirk changing the subject quickly as l brought the subject of sex up prior to us becoming partners by saying my wife never complained. #1 it's not about complaining it's about sharing what pleases us which is a natural human right, spoken in a loving way giving information to our beloved thereby more enjoyment for us. My partner to be was not teachable at that point. Is that why when some women fake it the partner feels he satisfied her? It stems from a lie another lie in the name of don't want to hurt his feeling. There's nothing about honesty there either. For years then one thinks she or he is satisfied all along it's a lie. I see this missed all the time. Stimulation for the female increases the amount of liquid in the vagina. This lowers the acidic level and this allows more sperm to live. The acidic level is high normally to help prevent infection. Arousal increases blood flow and this brings liquid to the vagina. This is part of the "wet" people refer to and also helps lubrication.

As a medical doctor many years past medical school, anatomy class was unforgettable. Not only was it hard, it was scheduled during the first semester of the first year of medical school. Straight from college it was jarring to suddenly switch gears into one of the hardest subjects in med school (mainly because of the huge amount of memorization needed). The cadavers really do appear that way as shown in the video. It was tough studying cadavers in the anatomy lab because of the nasty formalin fumes that made our eyes water and breathing a bit difficult.
@nilesbutler8638

I had the extraordinary chance to join into our local pathology course work for medical students, although my training as a physio did not demand it. Man, did I learn a lot on those bodies! graphs and models just do not lend the same insights. And yes, the fumes are brutal. The professor who lead the course for over a decade sounded like a chain smoker who gargled broken glass for breakfast. I never met another woman with that kind of raspy, destroyd voice in my life.
@Vendemiair

@@nilesbutler8638 We never had access to models but I still think the study of actual cadavers lends more "authenticity" to the subject of anatomy. Our anatomy lab had these large exhaust fans but it could only do so much for the formalin fumes. We also had these spray bottles of formalin we used to "take care" of our cadavers by periodic spraying. After several years the school decided to install airconditioning for the anatomy lab, but I don't know if that's any better.

Although I found it a little challenging viewing a deceased person’s genitals (would be the same for male or female) I very much appreciate the brief hands-on clitoral study. We are slowly but surely normalizing the healthy study of women’s sexuality and anatomy and it is fascinating. Shame has no place in the human body, glorious as it is. A very nuanced and mature approach to anatomy, pleasure and reproduction. What an incredible experience to be human and have so much intelligence married to pleasure. We are so lucky.

"Shame has no place in the human body, glorious as it is." Agree to disagree here, from someone who watched the whole video. No one should be shamed in having and experiencing the human body. But there should be shame in abusing such a glorious tool, in any way, which includes using it to harm others. That is why we have laws against murder, how to drive, to not steal, etc. Also each culture has customs on how to relieve ourselves, why rituals like chewing with mouths closed and keeping hands to ourselves exist, how to cover a sneeze and what to say for fouling the air and disturbing the sound. Dial all of those up to 11 anytime reproductive systems in any capacity is involved. You are not only playing with your own body, but also a partner's (or more), and the genetics passed down by both of your families which will then be passed on to an innocent life. Illnesses, conditions, legacy... the consequences of disrespecting our reproductive capabilities is heartache for everyone even distantly involved, not just you. There is shame in abuse and misconduct. Normalize learning about things while also normalizing consequences and looking at the big picture, not just individually enjoying the moment. There is no shame in having a body. There is shame in using it to harm others, by omission or commission. Or as Uncle Ben put it, "With great power comes great responsibility."

Of course, it should be delivered with a broader parental discussion. I think it gives you a better understanding of what you are feeling and why you feel that way. Often times it is easy to put another name to it; especially when you have not felt that way before. Love. I seriously doubt that one in a hundred parents have had this kind of discussion with their children. One in a thousand? One in a million? I'm a senior. They're beautiful in the physical sense without the attraction and it's not something that should be shamed or not talked about. It's human nature and normal to find something/someone beautiful. How our orgasms work; it's fascinating. I've learned so much from this channel. I even shared this channel with my brother. He finds science interesting. Never commented before, but this was worth commenting on for sure. I agree with you though. It's better to be open about our bodies than to pretend these sorts of things don't happen. I guess when it comes to polite conversation, these convos were always taboo and back when, it was a forbidden subject at the time. It's 2022. While I don't know how well it'd go over discussing the topic at a dinner party lol, I think when teens reach that certain point; it'd be more beneficial for them to learn this sort of stuff to cut down on bad decisions and accidental pregnancies. By not talking about it and treating it as a taboo, it leads to poor decisions. My mom was open in answering questions I had as a teen. My friend's father wasn't and she ended up with 3 kids and 3 different fathers. I never had children. So, it does more good to discuss than to avoid.

Therefore, the erection is much more noticeable, much more erect, and happens more frequently. Hormones do amazing things to anatomy for sure! Thanks for sharing this information! I love how I had this up really loud at the intro. "It's time to talk about erections." Very educational and easy to follow. Thank you!

And what exactly were you teaching him and for what purposes?

@@DarkN3r0 how the female anatomy is more than what’s to be seen and how the female orgasm is multifaceted both with approach and function. He already knew his was around but further understanding helped. We have 5 daughters. I need to know that he would be prepared to educate them correctly if something ever happened to me. I wouldn’t want anyone to not know how their body was wonderfully designed.

@@risingdawn2day how exactly your teachings helped him? As I see, he was able to make 5 daughters before you teched him. And as you told "he already knew his way around", so what useful new skill did he get as a result?

I love anatomy ❤️ I worked in a school of medicine for over 25 years and I got to see and learn a lot about our bodies but this was new to me. Thanks, this is my favorite channel to watch . I'm always learning something new. By the way learning something new each day is something I'm going to put into practice. Hoping to learn a new language and other things that way.

i was born with female external genitalia, despite being male. (currently taking testosterone) i relate to some of this and also some of the male erection video. i don't have a uterus or the organ that is below it (forgot the name) but i do have ovaries. thank you for keeping this as lightly-genderes as possible. it's very uncomfortable to be a man and have some of my parts used for ONLY women.

Not sure if im the only one thinking this, but you should make a video about what squirting actually is? Not sure if its even been looked at or not but it would be interesting to learn it through anatomy 🤔

I've always found the stuff surrounding homologous structures in the reproductive system super interesting, and most of the time when people talk about the clitoris the most they ever get to is "it exists and it's shaped like this and it has a lot of nerve endings" so it's real cool to get a more in depth look like this at how it all works

It makes a lot of sense for why when a woman is attacked seggually and their body responds in a “natural way” (obviously Not how they want since it’s forced but the brain says, oh well here it is) and we’re confused by that feeling when we didn’t want that action/stimulation to happen. It causes us to feel guilty. But it’s just our brain.

On that note maybe that explains why 😢 female genital mutilation was highly practiced just to prevent women from experiencing erotic sexual satisfaction,what a shame .
@istoppedcaring6209

in the islamic world it is or was (most civilisations never practiced this however) and I believe it was done to make these women unable to pleasure themselves, the idea being that sexual stimulation should only be for reproduction, offcourse most women can not actually climax without external stimulation soooo, yeah, not cool. I'l also take this opportunity to adress that genitals for both sexes are fickle and sensitive things and i'd like people to not shame eachother for not conforming to porn depictions of what they are supposed to be like, women who often experience yeast infections shouldn't be made to feel like they are carrying some weird illness cause most women get them from time to time and some are more sensitive to it, men should not be made to feel like they need to be 6 inches or above to even qualify on the market either. hypergamy is also not doing us any favours as it excludes most men on the one side, leading to these men simply giving up on dating eventually and causes those who do partake actively to lose their abillity to pairbond, (oxytocin is released whenever you are touched but really peaks with the female orgasm (so yes women climaxing has an important biological/evolutionary role.) oxytocin essentially is the hormone that makes you want to be tied to your sexual partner and not just have a quick lay and move on. if you do end up sharing this with to many people it essentially leads to something similar as opioid adictions, you can never get that same high with that same dose.
