Briefed. Prometheus was tortured for 30 years, until Herakles freed Him. I saw the blood eagle on Vikings and it looks worse than crucifixion, by a country mile. It reminds me of the torture of Prometheus. The Aesir were going to do it to Loki, for giving Idunn to Thiazi. Do you remember that story?
@Briefed_Mythology
8 ай бұрын
is 30 years really the timeframe? I couldn't find a straight answer on how much later he was freed. depending on how long prometheus was tortured, and on how long loki suffered, Loki's might be worse, but prometheus is sooooo much more painful. as for the blood eagle - at least when it's done, it's done. if it were repeated over and over, yes it would be worse, I agree

Brilliant again. Thank you. Sir. I sir. 😊I was going to say in some myths that it's was a eagle. I even the big Zeus eagle. But I like this version better and explains a lot. many books and channels say that hope was saved in the box. Which was a vase, not a box..i only found out about a week ago. Prometheus is my favourite Greek character. It's amazing how this story are so close two the Hebrew, Indians , American Indians , Persian and Norse ( it wasn't water, but but blood and it was two fost giants that survived.). Storys.. Interesting as ever. 👽👍

There's some precedent to answer that question in the story of Ixion. Ixion was guest on mount Olympus, and he "grew lustful for Hera". In response, Zeus created a cloud in the shape of Hera, (that was named Nephele) and tricked Ixion into having sex with it. Nephele then gave birth to centaurs as a result, and that's the origin of centaurs in Greek mythology (with the single exception of Chiron, who was born after Cronous fucked a horse that he really liked). As for Ixion, he was then expelled from mount Olympus, blasted with a thunderbolt, and finally bound to an eternally spinning winged fiery wheel, spinning across the heavens. In later versions, this punishment was instead transferred into Tartarus.

Also his opponent in that conflict, the king of England Richard the Lionheart, is equally fascinating and badass in his own right. "Those who know the nature of their true mind, are leaders among men and gods." - Buddha......AND GODS! Reminds me of the bodhisattva vow in buddhism to liberate all beings from the wheel of samsara before attaining liberation themselves. Bond by the vow to continue to make the plunge back into matter, life after life, incarnation after incarnation untill all are free. this is the spirit of prometheus, the flame of Awareness. I ike the fact that prometheus is also a titan, that would make Awareness a primordial force. The seeds of awakening lay dormant in the darkness of our chaotic orgins. Now that wev reached the ass end of the kaliyuga/the fall of man, we can expect the return of the light, Prometheus rising.

You hear it said alot, however most ppl still just cannot fathom the sheer brutality of what a Roman flagrum does to a human torso. The "hanging" part of a Roman crucifiction was just the ending trailers to the movie of death. It was fukn BRUTAL.

This is interesting. So the cause of the suffering is hope. In Bushido, there's a saying - way of the samurai is found in death. To live as though you are already dead, without any hope/desire and do what needs to be done. Thats the key i guess.

i feel like the greek jesus is Asclepius, who healed and brought people from the death, until hades had enough and went to zeus to tell him, if asclepius brings back more people from the death, his realm will be empty, so zeus kills asclepius and asclepius father Apollo gets so mad, that zeus gives asclepius his own constellation.
