I do not bleach my hair nor do I use non-natural dyes (henna, my love), so I have quite the healthy hair. It's quite long (mid-back to waist) and wavy, plus it's very dark. I have medium density, medium thickness, but a VERY sensitive scalp. I still use shampoo, but the non-sulfate kind, as it's less aggressive towards my scalp. I wash my hair every 3 to 7 days, depending on the weather and how my hair feels. If I've had quite the active day and it's hot out and I've sweat a lot, 3 days, but if it's cold and I've not done anything that would increase sebum production, 7 days is fine. It looks quite oily by then, but you can always make it less apparent with hairstyles (and it's easier when your hair is textured too).

Do you think you might be able to do a video helping myh situation? I really love your advice, I can tell you're knowledgeable and educated and experienced and I apprecite that so so much! Here myh situation: I dont wash myh hair often, sometimes I even go 5 days without washing myh hair 4 days I think is myh average, but sometimes it gets washed every third day. I am trying to grow myh hair out, it's fairly long, well past myh shoulder now, it's so straight, it's criminal.. pretty mousey and probably normal- not too fine, not too coarse (i recently cut fairly thick blunt bangs, sorta didn't intend to end up with this type of bang but its fine) ANYWAY myh problem is myh hair gets greasy so fast! It didnt used to and then I had myh twin girls ever since then myh hair has been getting greasy like day 2 hair and I just deal and leave it for atleast 1 more day if not 2 or 3 because I know washing it when it gets greasy so quickly could make this issue worse. I finally and recently switched to biolage (in desperation.. its helping a little I think. I might change to redkin after this runs out) I use pretty hot water to shower and wash myh hair. I do scrub myh scalp very thoroughly with myh fingertip pads, ofcourse I've been properly shampooing and conditioning myh hair since I started washing myh own hair completely by myhself as a child (shampoo scalp run it gently thru the ends cause i dont have much product build up, condition ends only) I dont use products in myh hair at all, I was using a bit of rice water spray on myh thin spots that I've had myh whole life on myh baby hairs area, I dont now but on rare random occasion.. I dont use much heat, when I do, I dont use a heat protectant, tho I should. Lastly, I used to be a bleacher and sometimes do a fun color, but I've not died myh hair nor done any chemical process on myh hair in over 10 years.. I've had, I guess, virgin hair since I cut the last of the bleach out of myh ends in 2013! Why the heck is myh hair so greasy so fast, is there anything I can do to help it while still keeping myh hair healthy? Myh hair used to be DRY long after I had natural hair again, before I had myh twin girls (they have a brother 11 years older than them), I MISS having dry hair! I do want to grow myh hair out. Once these bangs grow out I might consider a perm, I've wanted one for so long and I think it might help with the greasiness. Sorry for the long comment!! Do you have any answers or advice? Anything you'd think might help myh situation, I have a feeling I'm not alone with this issue. If you've took time to read this THANK YOU SO MUCH, I LOVEE YOUR VIDEOS!

If I wash my hair in the morning, it’ll be oily by the end of the night. I have used so many different dry shampoos to absorb oil but they never seem to really work for the amount of oil my hair produces. I have also been only washing my hair maybe once or twice a week for 6-8 months and it’s still as oily as when I would wash it more often. Any tips? My head is basically just a big grease ball 24/7.

HeyRay I’ve been using shampoos that are paraben (totally spelled wrong) and sulfate free. I guess there could be more chemicals i should look into avoiding.

There are shampoos and scalp treatments like a shampoo by kerestase that helps balance oily roots and it can regulate your problem a little better. And there is a scalp treatment by Moroccan oil that is for oily roots too. I've never tried the scalp treatment but I've heard good reviews from clients about it

I have fine strands, but a thick head of hair. My hair is midway down my back (about and inch below me bra strap 😂), I find my hair is really flat, I've dyed it once and I don't do much other than washing and conditioning. I use sea salt spray on the midshaft and ends, but even after trying it on the roots they're still flat. I also NEED to wash is every other day. Any suggestions?😶
@kyliethejellyfish
5 жыл бұрын
Try dry shampoo by nioxin, amongst other great ones, this is really great at adding volume. Try different forms of dry shampoo or volume sprays. Instead of sea salt spray try a dry texture spray, theres a really good one by the brand bumble and bumble. Hopefully that helps? Your hair texture is a tougher one to work with when its long, but you could try some long lightweight layers if your hair is currently one length

Why is dry shampoo better than regular shampooing your hair?
@kyliethejellyfish
4 жыл бұрын
It's not! They are two different things. Over shampooing your hair is bad because it dries out the natural oils that your hair needs to be healthy, strong and shiny. Dry shampoo on the other hand is something you can use to soak up oily roots when you need to make your hair look visible clean but you dont have time to literally wash it. It also gives hair fluffiness and volume and is also used on synthetic wigs to make then look more natural bc it's more matte

What should I do about dandruff? Like I don't wash my hair that often maybe once every 1-2 weeks but I have dandruff
@imtoopunkrockforthis3604
5 жыл бұрын
Just make sure that you brush your scalp quite hard (but not too hard). Also, you might want to buy an anti dandruff shampoo for when you do wash your hair, but don't get ones like head and shoulders because they strip your scalp and the dandruff will come back and your hair will just become dependant on it. I recommend t gel shampoo.

Have you tried the brand Moroccan oil they are going to be great for your hair. The oil itself will help your hair, you can also get their curl cleansing conditioner to clean your hair in between shampoos so you only have to shampoo maybe every other week but there is also a dry scalp treatment you can get at a salon that carries them, it will hopefully help with the itching. Other than that their shampoos and conditioners are great for your hair type just keep in mind they get tend to feel a little heavy on finer hair so yse the lightweight oil and you should be fine

Curly hair needs more oil to it because it's dryer than straight hair because the strands is longer and it takes longer for the oils to make its way down the strand it has nothing to do with it clumping the hair together it clumps because it's heavy not because how to texture of your hair.......from a lisenced professional
