I’ve been playing with the idea of creating say a low fi study album with 12 lowfi beats, for people that might not even be an artist, they just want music to listen to. Or make a “workout” album and sell the album as a whole for 10 bucks and make money off streams from each track by monetizing them on Spotify ect. What do you think about this? Targeting a listener audience vs an up and coming rapper looking for beats to make their own song out of 🤔
@BeeLeeBeats
2 жыл бұрын
It's what a lot of lofi channels have done, I'd say do both, sell to rappers and make music you can copyright and distribute. More income is better than less income. Or even better, work with other rappers for features and release an album with those songs.

It's no secret that you can make money from people just listening to your beats as instrumentals. Yes it's a different market to tackle and you still have to market yourself. But the work is less strenuous because you're not catering to recording artists. I personally have taken the tv/film sync licensing route. I have no desire to work artists anymore.

So if i get this right, this free for profit thing is a pretty big gamble. You can get screwed big time in multiple ways or you could blow up and make bank. Or am missing something?😅 Great insight tho! X Carlos
@matthewmaymusic
2 жыл бұрын
The ways you can get screwed over are pretty much typical of anyway you sell beats. Unfortunately people will try stealing beats but they’re not the people who end up making it big anyways
@TaRiqTheVisionary
2 жыл бұрын
if you really think about it; theirs no way you can get screwed if you do the paperwork on your beats; they sync anyway so if you upload them first and register them the profits and numbers go straight to you. Tone Jonez does this exact thing- Tagging isn’t necessary unless you want promotion; you should pray someone steals your beat and blows up BECAUSE you can just get a entertainment lawyer and sue 🤷🏾♂️ anything under a mil. Don’t stress about it just wait for the harvest 💯 I don’t tag my beats at all; still my money and sync. Don’t be scared guys!!

They act like people are just uploading beats and they rack up 10k views like nothing haha what world do these guys live in cause that isn't real. If so everyone would be making money off beats simply by uploading to the net. Paying for ad space on the net is a rip off too unless you're paying google millions. They have algorithms in place on the internet that nobody will accidentally go viral on the net anymore, that simply just doesn't happen these days anymore. This video doesn't give much info how they did this or where to start.
