This is a recording of a live digital event which took place on Thursday 23 September, 6-7 PM, as part of the first Art History Festival 2021.
Against all odds, American architect Louis Kahn designed a dazzling parliamentary complex in newly independent war-torn Bangladesh. Art historian and filmmaker Sundaram Tagore, who spent seven years following in Kahn’s footsteps exploring the wealth of architectural forms-from Rome to India-that inspired his achievement, will talk about the aesthetic and philosophical impact of these epic buildings, and show his documentary Louis Kahn’s Tiger City.
Sundaram Tagore is a Calcutta-born Oxford-educated art historian, gallerist, and an award-winning filmmaker.
