Um... no. He got paid and more people bought his book. That's why he came to terms of it. But "different mediums" doesn't excuse the hipster take that all movies outside of Oscar Bait have to be now. And that means that there is a cultural mandate thanks to hipsters that every other character is a snarky wannabe comedian throwing one liners all the time. There was a time when action movies can be made that took themselves seriously. Now everything has to be like a MCU movie with annoying character cracking corny one liners all the time which is horrible especially since those MCU movies ignore the serious tone of the original Marvel comic books to make everything into practically a parody of itself.

@@DaRunningMan I think this is a bit harsh personally, but I get what you mean. Matt Damon gave a great answer in like a piece that GQ or smthn like that did where he said, Movies have to do this now because of the money. Paraphrasing his words, but a movie like Good Will Hunting or Behind the Candelabra being profitable in today’s market is fiction. You have to appeal to the lowest common denominators and loudest communities to gain viewers even if 80% of those viewers hate it. They still get paid no matter what the audience thinks, as long as they see it. And unfortunately, its a trend now to go see movies in order to join the hate online. You get the sell numbers because of the Hollywood name and the quality of an unkown actor to identify with in the movie. Meanwhile you have an A class actor for the bad guy.
